    Which missile was successfully flight-tested from Sukhoi fighter aircraft - Brahmos

    On 22nd November 2017, Supersonic Cruise Missile Brahmos was successfully flight-tested from Sukhoi-30MKI. Important to mention here that Brahmos is fastest Supersonic Cruise Missile of world.
    Missile was able to hit an intended target in the Bay of Bengal. This has given a big boost to Indian Air Force combat powers.

    Brahmos has been development jointly between India and Russia.
    Its name represent rivers of two Nations that is, Brah + Mos. Brah is Brahmaputra river of India while Mos is Moskva river of Russia.

    Agreement on cooperation in customs matters was approved by cabinet between India and Philippines

    On 22nd November 2017, Union Cabinet approved agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters between India and Philippines. Thus both countries will have access to relevant information which will facilitate more trade.

    Cabinet approved setting up Finance Commission, it will be - 15th Finance Commission

    On 22nd November 2017, Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi approved setting up of 15th Finance Commission. All the terms of reference will also be notified soon.

    Important to mention here that a Finance Commission (FC) should be constituted within two years from the commencement of this Constitution and thereafter at the expiration of every fifth year or at such earlier time as the President considers necessary.

    The recommendations which were made by 14th Finance Commission would be valid till 2019-2020.

    For how many cities Union government initiated 'safe-city' plan for women - 8 Cities

    On 22nd November 2017, Union government initiated a process for a comprehensive plan focusing on safe cities for Women. Initially eight cities has been planed for same. These cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Hyderabad.

    Union Government sends a proposal to UN for declaring year 2018 as - International Year of Millets

    On 22nd November 2017, A proposal was sent to United Nations (UN) by Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh. This proposal is about to declare 2018 as "International Year of Millets".
    If this will be accepted then it will help in raising awareness about millets in consumers as well as in Industry. Government want to promote Millets. Millets are small-seeded grasses termed as 'Nutri-Cereals' or 'Dryland-Cereals'.
    Millets are not only less expensive but also very rich in Nutrition.
