    Who has won IPL 2015 title - Mumbai Indians

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 24th May 2015, Mumbai Indians (MI) won the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the final clash Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 41-runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

    Mumbai Indians won the title for the second time this year after 2013. Mumbai Indians scored a total of 202 for five wickets after being invited to bat first, while batting second, Chennai Super Kings were able to score just 161 for eight wickets.

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 24th May 2015, Nico Rosberg of Germany representing Mercedes won the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 World Championship title by winning the final race held in Monaco.

    While the Ferrari team represented by Sebastian Vettel of Germany stood at the second position, Rosberg’s team mate Lewis Hamiltion of UK was at the third positon.

    It is the second title in the 2015 season having won the Spanish Formula 1 World Championship on 10th May 2015 and the tenth overall championship title for Rosberg.

    With this win, after Graham Hill, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, he has become the fourth driver to win three Monaco Grand Prix titles in a row.

    Sergio Perez (Mexico) and Nico Hulkenberg (Germany) of Force India stood at the 7th and 11th positions respectively in the final race.

    Name the Nobel Awardee mathematician who has passed away - John Forbes Nash Jr.

    On 23rd May 2015, the Princeton University mathematician, John Forbes Nash Jr., passed away at the age of 86 in a car accident along with his wife. He was born on 13th June 1928. Oscar-winning film, A Beautiful Mind was inspired by his life.

    He was an American mathematician who became famous for his partial differential equations, differential geometry, and game theory, which provided an perception into the factors that, govern chance and events inside complex systems in daily life.

    His theories were used in military theory, politics, accounting, evolutionary biology, artificial intelligenceand economics.

    He shared the 1994 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences with game theorists John Harsanyi and Reinhard Selten.

    Awards and honours

    • He won the Abel Prize in 2015 along with Louis Nirenberg for his work on non-linear partial differential equations by King Harald V of Norway.
    • He won the Leroy P. Steele Prize in 1999.
    • He was awarded with the John von Neumann Theory Prize for his discovery of non-cooperative equilibria, now called Nash equilibria in 1978.

    Who is appointed as CMD of National Fertilizers Limited - Manoj Mishra

    Among the important appointments, On 24th May 2015, Manoj Mishra was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of state-run National Fertilizers Limited (NFL). In February 2014, after the retirement of Neeru Abrol the post of NFL's CMD fell vacant.

    Mishra is currently serving as the Director (Finance) at State Trading Corporation (STC). He worked for 23 years after beginning his career from fertiliser company Kribhco.

    NFL has five gas-based urea plants, two plants at Vijaipur in District Gunaat, Madhya Pradesh, Panipat in Haryana and Nangal & Bathinda in Punjab. The company is the second largest producer of urea in the country and has a total annual installed volume of 35.68 lakh tonnes.
