    Indian PM Narendra Modi on 5 day visit to United States of America

    Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on 5 day visit to USA. His visit is scheduled from 26th September 2014 to 30th September 2014. This visit is important to take relations of both countries forward. 

    • On 27th September 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing United Nations General Assembly. 
    • On 28th September 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing Indian-American community at Madison Square House. 
    • On 29th September 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting USA President Barack Obama, as Obama will be hosting a private dinner party for Indian PM. 

    Above listed a few important points which were covered, but it is also important to mention that Shri Narendra Modi will be attending about 50 events in this visit.

    Right Livelihood Award 2014 won by Edward Snowden and Alan Rusbridger

    On 24th September 2014, Edward Snowden and Alan Rusbridger won Right Livelihood Award. This award was shared by them. 

    The Right Livelihood Award is popularly also known as Nobel prize of Sweden.

    Right Livelihood Award was established in 1980.

    On 25th September 2014, Forbes India magazine released The 100 Richest Indian List.

    Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana launched by Union Government

    On 25th September 2014, Union government launched Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. Union Minister for Rural Development Mr. Nitin Gadkari launched it during the National Convention on Skills for Rural and Urban Poor held in New Delhi.

    This plan will focus at training 10 lakh rural youths for jobs in three years (till 2017).

    Short range nuclear capable missile Hatf IX test fired by Pakistan

    On 26th September 2014, Pakistan test fired the Hatf IX missile. This nuclear capable missile is short range surface-to-surface missile.
