    New system to manage air traffic has been launched by - AAI

    On 26th January 2017, Airports Authority of India launched Central - Air Traffic Flow Management (C-ATFM) on the occasion of 68th Republic Day. This system will be helpful to cut the flight delays.

    AAI chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra opened a dedicated C-ATFM facility at Delhi's new Air Traffic Services Complex and soon this system will be replicated at all the airports and in entire Indian airspace.

    First ever Women's Football Professional League was launched by - AIFF

    On 24th January 2017, All India Football Federation (AIFF) launched first ever Women Professional Leauge in India at New Dehli.

    AIFF President Praful Patel launched this event while Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel and 2016 Summer Olympics wrestling bronze medalist Sakshi Malik were also present in the event.

    This league will be held for two weeks at Ambedkar Football Stadium in New Delhi starting from 28th January 2017.

    Power Grid Corporation of India inked MoU with - Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority

    On 25th January 2017, Central Power Sector PSU Power Grid Corporation of India inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA). Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Distribution Co (UAE) Saeed Al Suwaidi and Executive Director- International Business of POWERGRID Mr Anil Mehra in the presence of IS Jha, CMD of POWERGRID.

    As per MoU both companies will work together in the fields of capability development and training in the field of Operation & Maintenance (O&M), Asset Management, Project Management, Power Transmission & Distribution, etc.

    ADWEA will also be assisted by POWERGRID to set up an advanced World Class Capability Development institute in UAE. 

    Name of Russian ambassador to India who passed away - Alexander Kadakin

    On 26th January 2017, Russian ambassador to India Alexander Kadakin was passed away after a brief illness. He was 67 years old and he held this position from 2009.

    He played a major role in ties of India and Russia. He was fond of Indian Culture and Language. He also authored and translated many books from English and Hindi.
