Who has been appointed as new Chief Secretary of Delhi - M M Kutty

Among Important Appointments, On 29th November 2016, Senior IAS officer M. M. Kutty was appointed as Chief Secretary of Delhi. He succeeded K K Sharma for this crucial post, as K K Sharma has been transferred to Human Resource Development as Officer on Special Duty.

M. M. Kutty is IAS Officer of 1985 batch and was serving as Additional Secretary in the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.

Chief Secretary of a state is considered as head of all government machinery.

Name of the prince who has been invited by Parliament of Thailand to become King - Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn

On 29th November 2016, Parliament of Thailand invited Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn to be new King as its a formal procedure to be a King of country after death of his father King Bhumibol Adulyadej. King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away in October 2016.

Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn in only son of former king Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. He became crown prince when he was 20 years old. He did his graduation from Australia's Royal Military College, Duntroon.

He belongs to Chakri Dynasty and will be 10th King of it.

As per Supreme Court directive, Cinema halls will have to play what before film screening - National Anthem

Among Important National Current Affairs, On 30th November 2016, In landmark judgement Supreme Court of India directed all cinema halls to play National Anthem before screening of a movie and all people must stand up during Anthem being played to show respect.

There can't be any commercial exploitation of the national anthem and the flag for any type of variety shows or for entertainment purposes.

Where was First and longest cycle highway of Asia was inaugurated - Uttar Pradesh

On 26th November 2016, First and longest cycle highway of Asia was inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh inaugurated it. This cycle highway is 207 km long and connects Agra to Etawah.

Width of this highway is 7 feet. Starting from Etawah it passed through 82 villages along the highway to reach Taj city Agra.

RBI limits cash withdrawal from which type of accounts - Jan Dhan Yojana bank accounts

On 29th November 2016, Reserve Bank of India reduced cash withdrawal limit from the  Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. These accounts will be having limit of 10000 per month withdrawal limit. This was done to keep a check on misuse of these accounts from money launderers.

If any person need to withdraw more money from account than told limit then he/she have to show appropriate documents to prove the purpose.

This step is important as there was a rise in transactions in these account with heavy amounts following note ban which was seen as misusing of these accounts.
