    Which state government to form separate cell for Primitive Tribes Group - Jharkhand Government

    Among Important National Current Affairs, in July 2016 Jharkhand government decided to form a separate cell for the Primitive Tribes Group (PTG) in the Welfare Department. The main aim of the cell is to monitor the benefits to the group under various schemes.

    However, a Consultant and an Assistant would be placed in the cell.

    Here, The Union Government provides fund for the welfare of the PTG in addition to the state's own schemes. 

    Also there are nearly three lakh people belonging to PTGs in the state.

    Strategic Forces Command exempted from ambit of – RTI

    SFC (The Strategic Forces Command) which forms part of the National Command Authority (NCA) has been added to the Second Schedule of the Right to Information Act (RTI), 2005. 

    However, in this regard, Union Government has issued a notification mentioning SFC, which has been brought under sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the RTI. The Section 24 of the RTI exempts security and intelligence establishments from its purview.

    Who has been appointed as DGP of Maharashtra Police - Satish Mathur

    On 20th July 2016, Satish Mathur was appointed as Director General of Maharashtra Police by Maharashtra Government. 

    Satish Mathur, who is the IPS of 1981-batch, will retire in June 2017.

    However, Mathur will succeed Praveen Dixit, the IPS of 1977 batch, who is retiring from on 31 July 2016 on superannuation. Dixit will be seen serving in the post since September 2015.

    This order of his appointment was issued by the state home department after chief minister Devendra Fadnavis signed it.

    Which yojana is launched in Haryana - Pashudhan Bima Yojana

    On 29th July 2016, Haryana Government launched Pashudhan Bima Yojana in Jhajjar. 

    By the state’s Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, O P Dhankar, the Yojna was launched.

    Also this Yojna was started in accordance to the recommendations made in Swaminathan Report.

    According to Dhankar, the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department has set a target to cover one lakh cattle under Pashudhan Bima Yojana.
