    Formula 1 British Grand Prix 2015 title was won by - Lewis Hamilton

    On 5th July 2015, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won 2015 Formula One British Grand Prix title at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, England.

    Nico Rosberg stood at second position while Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel secured third place.

    With this win, Hamilton became the second British driver since David Coulthard in 1999-2000 to post successive wins in the race.

    30-day state of emergency was declared in - Tunisia

    Among the International Current Affairs, On 4th July 2015, State of emergency was declated in Tunisia for 30 days. It was declared by President of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi. It was declared after ISIS gun attack on 26 June 2015 on Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba on the Mediterranian coast and calls for more such attacks by the militant organisation during the holy month of Ramadan. In this attack 38 foreign tourists were killed. 

    South Asian Basketball 2015 Championship was won by - India

    Among the Sports Current Affairs, On 5th July 2015, India won South Asian Basketball (SABA) Championship title by defeating Sri Lanka at the final held in Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, Karanataka. 

    This win has given advantage to India as India has qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship in China which will be held in Sep 2015.

    First MUDRA card under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana was launched by - Corporation Bank

    Among the Important Banking Current Affairs, On 4th July 2015, India's first MUDRA card under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) was launched by Corporation Bank in Mangalore, Karnataka.

    The card is based on the RuPay platform and facilitates the withdrawal and use of the working capital finance by micro entrepreneurs.

    Three loan shcemes were launched by bank under PMMY these are Shishu, Kishore and Tarun.

    Revised classification of world's economies based on Gross National Income was released by - World Bank

    On 1st July 2015, World Bank released the annual revised classification of the world's economies based on estimates of gross national income.

    As per this report in 1994, 56.1 percent of the world’s population or 3.1 billion people lived in the 64 low-income countries, in 2014, this was down to 8.5 percent or 613 million people, living in 31 countries.

    Four countries Bangladesh, Kenya, Myanmar and Tajikistan moved from the low income group to the lower-middle income group while two countries Mongolia and Paraguay moved from the lower middle-income status to upper middle-income.

    As far as India is concerned then as per report India's average per capital GNI reached 1610 US dollars or around 101430 rupees, it continues to be in the lower middle income category.

    India's GDP reached 2 trillion US dollar mark in 2014. In 2013 it was 1.861 trillion US dollars.

    Unwed mother can be child's guardian without father's consent was ruled by - Supreme Court

    Among the National Current Affairs, On 6th July 2015, Supreme Court of India ruled that an unwed mother can be the sole legal guardian of a child without the consent of the father and court also said that it was not required of the mother to disclose the identity of the father. This was ruled by the Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Vikramjit Sen while hearing a plea by an unwed mother.
