    Name of the country which submitted instrument of acceptance of Doha amendment to Kyoto Protocol to UNFCC - Maldives

    Among Imporant International Current Affairs On 1st July 2015, Instrument of acceptance of the Doha amendment to the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) was submitted by Maldives. Total acceptence of 144 parties are required to bring Kyoto Protocol Extension into force, as of now 35 parties have been accepted it.

    The Kyoto Protocol (KP) was adopted in Kyoto, Japan, on 11 December 1997 and entered into force on 16 February 2005. The detailed rules for the implementation of the Protocol were adopted at Conference of Parties (COP) 7 in Marrakesh, Morocco, in 2001, and are referred to as the Marrakesh Accords.

    It was based on the common but differentiated responsibilities principle and first commitment period started in 2008 and ended in 2012.

    Nakshatra Vatika at Rashtrapati Nilayam Gardens was inaugurated by - President Pranab Mukerjee

    On 6th July 2015, Nakshatra Vatika was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Nilayam Gardens in Bolarum, Secunderabad. This vatika have different plants which are representing planets, zodiac signs and stars. 

    This vatika or garden has been developed as per Vedic astrology.

    If you want to see it then In first week of January 2016 it is expected to be opened for public. 

    Name of the former Chinese Finance Minster who was nominated for the AIIB President post by China - Jin Liqun

    On 6th July 2015, Jin Liqun was nominated by China to be the first president of the Beijing-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Jin Liqun is former Finance Minister of China.

    He is serving as secretary General of AIIB's interim secretariat as of now. He has great exposure of banking as he has served in World bank and was also first Chinese to become vice president at the Japan-controlled Asian Development Bank.

    In AIIB term of President is for 5 years.

    India released Joint Statement to intensify security cooperation, exchanges with - Uzbekistan

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on 8 day visit to five Central Asian states, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. 

    His this visit is scheduled from 6th July to 13th July 2-15. On his visit to Uzbekistan on 6th July a Joint Statement (JS) to intensify security cooperation and exchanges was released by both countries. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov had invited him to visit the country. 

    Many points were said in joint statement including regular bilateral consultations and political dialogue, strengthen coordination between the law enforcement agencies, more cooperation in the fields of defence and cyber-security, investment by Indian companies in Uzbekistan, including in the framework of the Special Economic Zones "Navoi", "Angren" and "Jizzakh" etc. 

    USA and Brazil issued Joint Statement on - Climate Change

    Among the International Current Affairs, On 30th June 2015, President of the United States of America Barack Obama and President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff released a joint statement on climate change in Washington USA, which was released with an aim to reduce green house gas emissions and making bilateral mechanisms to protect the planet from the adverse effects of climate change.

    The USA will reduce GHG emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent below 2005 levels in 2025 while Brazil intends to restore and reforest 12 million hectares of forests by 2030.

    Supreme Court issued notice to Union Government and EC on which petition - To bring political parties under RTI

    Among the Important National Current Affairs, On 7th July 2015, Supreme Court of India has issued notices to Election Commission and Union Government including six polictical parties Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Communist Party of India (M), Communist Party of India (CPI), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and asked why it should not be brought within Right to Information (RTI) ambit to make them more accountable to public.

    Three-judge bench issued this notice, name of Judges are Chief Justice HL Dattu, Justice Arun Kumar Mishra and Justice Amitava Roy. 

    Important to mention here that this notice was issued after a PIL filed by NGO Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The petitioner in the plea filed in May 2015 demanded to declare all national and regional political parties as public authorities and bring them under the ambit of RTI Act, 2005.
