Almost all the IIMs are mostly sought after B Schools in India. However, the admission in IIMs is done in two levels. Firstly, appear in CAT and qualify the test. On the basis of the IIM CAT cut offs, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage. 

Have a look on IIM Admission Criteria – 

It includes shortlisting of candidates and then appearing for PI and WAT. Points are awarded for past academic performance, PI-WAT, Work Experience and other factors.   

In the year 2013, there were 3265 seats and in 2014 it was increased to 3335. The seats in IIMs for new session will be declared after CAT results. 

Over the past few years the number of seats in IIMs has increased steadily over the past few years. While, the number of CAT test takers has decreased. It’s not easy to take the admission in IIM. For this you have to score high in CAT. You also need to achieve the minimum cut off percentile. 

Know About IIM Admission -

The Indian Institutes of Management conduct the Common Admission Test every year. There are two main stages –

1.On the basis of CAT Cut Offs (IIM Shortlisting)

2.WAT (Written Admission Test) & GD (Group Discussion)

3.PI (Personal Interview)

After all the above levels, each IIM publishes its separate criteria and details. The dates of GD/WAT and PI are fixed in accordance of each IIM and candidates are also intimated accordingly. 

IIM Shortlisting Criteria – 

Here candidates are shortlisted on basis of minimum CAT percentile requirement. The CAT IIM cut offs are announced by IIMs in the selection process details. As the CAT results are declared, list of shortlisted candidates is published. 

For high score in IIM Selection Criteria here are few factors which are important:
