    IBPS also known as the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection was started with the motive to select the young graduates in public sector banks in India as a recruitment body. IBPS aim is to provide standardized systems for assessment and result processing services to its customers.

    IBPS releases notification of the examination every year. With the release of official notification IBPS PO Recruitment will start. There are a total of 3562 vacancies in the IBPS sector. IBPS vacancy will be increasing every year as many banks come under the authority of IBPS recruitment sector.

    RECRUITMENT OF IBPS PROBATIONARY OFFICERS

    Probationary Officers and Management Trainees are recruited every year through a Common Written Examination (CWE) which is commonly known as the IBPS PO exam. The common written examination for IBPS was started in 2011 and from then they are conducting this exam every year. The IBPS PO examination consists of 3 phases namely prelims, mains and interview and in order to qualify for each phases the candidate must clear the first phase and then the second in order to reach the third.

    IBPS PO AVERAGE SALARY

    The salary of an IBPS recruit depends on the level of his/her job level. The average pay scale of an IBPS recruit lies between 23700 to 27000 rupees. Candidates who clear and qualify the prelims examination will be called upon for the mains examination and further students who clear the mains examination will be called upon for the interview to be conducted by the Participating Organizations and co-ordinate by the Nodal Bank.

    IBPS PO Eligibility

    Candidates who are pursuing for the post of IBPS CWE PO/MT should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria specified by IBPS in order to qualify for the post.

    • Nationality/Citizenship:

     A candidate must be either a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came to India or the person who was born in Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam and are permanently settled in India now.

    • Age criteria:

    The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 30 years

    • Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:

     SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; PWD (person with disability) 10 years 

    • Educational Qualifications:

    A graduation degree from a recognized board or university

    Common Written Entrance - Online Exams Structure

    The structure of the examination is given below:

    • Preliminary Examination
    • English Language: total marks 30 and total time 30 minutes
    • Numerical Ability: total marks 35 and total time 35 minutes
    • Reasoning Ability: total marks 35 and total time 35 minutes

    The total duration will be 1 hour where the candidates will have to answer 100 questions

    In order to qualify for the mains examination, the candidates have to clear all the 3 section of the prelims examination by securing cut off marks. Shortlisted candidates will be selected by the IBPS for the mains examination keeping in mind the amount of vacancies left.

    • Main Examination

    This examination will be held after the prelims examination and those students who have cleared the prelims exam with the cut off are only eligible. The English aptitude section will be presented in two languages that are English and Hindi and all the other section will be presented in English.

    • Reasoning: 50 Question/50 Marks;
    • English Language: 40 Question/40 Marks;
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Question/50 Marks;
    • General Awareness: 40 Question/40 Marks (with special reference to Banking Industry)
    • Computer Knowledge: 20 Question/20 Marks

    Total duration will be 140 minutes where the candidates will have to complete 200 questions that are worth of 200 marks. The above tests except the Tests of English Language will be available in two languages, i.e. English and Hindi as before also mention.

    IBPS hold the right to change or modify the examination pattern anytime if they fell any doubt about the exam. Any other detailed information will be handed out by IBPS as soon as they will make a change, and this will be notified on the official website of IBPS.

    • Penalty for Wrong Answers in both prelims and mains exam:

    In the objective test you cannot be too sure to be right. So the main advice would be that if you are not sure about your answers just leave that question and move onto the next one. There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score and   if a question is left blank which means no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question. If any candidate answers more than one answer and even one of the answers is right, the candidate will receive a deduction of 0.25 marks. So if you make guesses, stop this habit and only answer if you are absolutely sure about the answer.
