    WHAT IS SBI?

    State bank of India is the largest commercial bank in India and no other commercial bank can match this bank’s reputation, in terms of assets, deposits, and employees quantity. 

    As it is owned by the government of India, it has a slightly lesser rate compared to other commercial banks and offers a variety of general banking services from loans advances to corporate and individuals in India and abroad.  SBI is a state owned bank and is the preferred banker for most public sector corporations. State bank of India, along with its neighbor banks, offers micro-financing to entities known as self-help groups in rural areas that would otherwise have no access to formal credit channels.

    Formation of SBI banks resembles to the 19th century, though it was formally established after the independence of India on July 1st ,1955 through the implementation of SBI Act, 1955. This bank took over the assets of the Imperial Bank of India which was formed around 1921 with the merging of three Indian banks known as: Bank of Bengal, Bank of Bombay and Bank of Madras. State Bank of India went public in 1993 issuing staggering 1.24 crore shares priced at Rs 100 each.

    Candidates are now able to download the call letter for the GD/PI round who have qualified for the SBI PO exam. The GD/PI call letters is available online on various website and also at the official SBI website and the candidates are able to download it by submitting the Registration Number, Roll Number, Password, date of Birth.

    POINTS TO REMEMBER:

    • Separate call letters will be released for prelims and main examination by SBI PO.
    • Hard copy of SBI PO Admit Card will not be sent to the candidates by post or mail.
    • The candidate should bring at least one identity proof such of themselves as passport, PAN card/ driving license/ Aadhar / Bank Passbook/ Voter’s Card with duly attested   identity card, photograph issued by the gazette officer.
    • The photocopy of the Photo Identity card along with the call letter (PI) must be brought with the Hall Ticket of SBI PO and should be shown to the invigilator so as to identify and verify the candidate without any further queries.
    • If the candidate’s identity is in doubt then he will be not permitted to attend the examination by the invigilator.

    PROOFS NEEDED AT THE TIME OF EXAMINATION

    The candidates must bring one photo identity proof during the examination such as Passport,    Aadhar, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter’s Card and Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph/Identity Card issued by School. Identity card with a photo of the candidate on it should be submitted along with call letter to the invigilators in the examination hall, but if the candidate fails to provide the necessary documents to the invigilators he/she will not be permitted to go inside the examination hall and will not be able to give the examination.

    INFORMATION TO BE MENTIONED:

    • Name, address, father’s name, category and date of birth
    • Name and address of the center
    • Time of reporting in the exam section
    • Time of starting the exams
    • Date of the exam
    • Roll number
    • Signature and photo of the candidate etc. 

    IMPORTANT DATES

    The four exams for the selection of SBI PO are going to be held on different dates provided by the bank. The first exam would be held first and then second, the exam is going to be held in an ordered sequence as after qualifying first exam aspirants can only then appear in the second exam and there needs to be a particular time gap between the exams so that candidates can prepare it in a limited time.

    The important points to remember about the importance if admit card are:

    • The Candidates are required to download SBI PO 2017 Admit Card/ Call Letter and “acquaint yourself” booklet once they are available on the official website of SBI as after some time the booklets won’t be available.
    • The candidates have to grab the “acquaint yourself” booklet and admit card themselves as SBI will not send any kind of hardcopy to the candidate’s resident.
    • various information, including instructions to be followed by candidates at the exam hall, the written exam pattern and sample questions for the exam is included in acquaint yourself booklet
    • The SBI PO exam will be conducted in various states and also in union territories and the specific centre for a student exam will be mentioned in the students admit card. Don’t forget to see all the detail mentioned on the admit card carefully as one mistake can cost you your exam.
    • It is necessary for the candidate to carry their admit card with them on the examination day or the invigilators won’t allow the student to sit in the examination hall.
