    Google Doodle celebrates 30 years of World Wide Web on - 12th March 2019

    Google Doodle on March 12th, 2019 celebrated 30 years of the World Wide Web, which is an invention of Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
    The doodle displayed the Earth revolving inside a computer coupled to a switch on its letters.
    World Wide Web & Internet 
    The WWW is generally confutilised with the internet, although the 2 are linked somehow.
    The internet is the “Network of Networks”; which is a vast & global network that includes a multitude of networks and connects millions of computers together universally, developing a network in which any computer can communicate as long as they are connected to the Internet.
    In nutshell, the WWW is a communications model constructed upon innovations like HTML language, URL addresses & Hypertext Transfer Protocol. The World Wide Web is an app that simplifies the exchange of data over the internet.

    • Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee is an English computer scientist, who is best known as the originator of the WWW.
    • In November 1989, he executed the 1st successful communication between a Hypertext Transfer Protocol client & server via the Internet.
    • He is the holder of the founder’s chair at the MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
    • In 2004, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his revolutionary work.
    • He has also been termed in Time magazine's list of the 100 Most Important People of the Twentieth century.
    • By 1991, the external Web servers were up in the market but the web was made public in April 1993 & the 1st search engine “Mosaic” was released in November 1993 to receive pictures.
    • Mosaic was further replaced by the Internet Explorer, Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox.
      The WWW unlocked the internet to everyone, linking the world by way of sharing of data.
