    Olaf Pooley passed away, he was a - Noted Hollywood actor

    On 14th July 2015, Olaf Pooley passed away at the age of 101. He was a noted hollywood actor. He was very famous for his role as villainous scientist Professor Stahlman in Doctor Who show, which he starred in during the 1970s.

    He was also a guest director at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and directed Anthony Hopkins in The Waltz of the Toreadors.

    Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan launched by - Union Government

    On 21st July 2015, Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan was launched by Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan with an aim to create mass awareness and capacity building for safe and hygienic food.

    Under the campaign, nationwide sensitisation sessions on cleaning, hygiene & sanitation for safe food, Walkathons and Media dissemination programmes for Consumers, Street Food Industries will be organized across the country.

    India signed maritime cooperation agreement with - Singapore

    On 21st July 2015, India signed an agreement with Singapore on sharing white-shipping information to enhance maritime cooperation between the two navies. During the visit of Navy chief Admiral R K Dhowan to Singapore this agreement was signed.

    Who was appointed as new Chief Executive Officer of Myntra - Ananth Narayanan

    On 21st July 2015, Ananth Narayanan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Myntra. Myntra is owned by Flipkart. He will be joining at this post on 1st October 2015. Ananth Narayanan is former director of McKinsey and has worked with McKinsey for 15 years across four offices, namely Chicago, Shanghai, Taipei and Chennai.

    Interest Subvention Scheme was extended by Govt to - Banks

    Among Important Banking Current Affairs, On 21st July 2015, Interest Subvention Scheme (ISS) was extended by Union Government to Public Sector Banks, private sector commercial banks, rural regional banks (RRBs), cooperative banks and NABARD with an aim to ensure availability of crop loans of up to 3 lakh rupees to farmers at 7 percent per annum.

    It was also decided by govt to provide interest subvention to small and marginal farmers with Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) for loans against negotiable warehouse receipts post-harvest at annual interest of seven percent for six months.

    OBC status for Jats review plea was rejected by - Supreme Court

    On 21st July 2015, Pleas of Union Government and Jat organizations asking the court to reconsider its verdict about including Jats in OBC was quashed by Supreme Court.

    Bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi and comprising Justice Rohinton F Nariman rejects this plea and declared Union Government decision to grant OBC status to JAT community as unconstitutional.
