    PM Narendra Modi returns after visit of which three Nation tour – Belgium, United States and Saudi Arabia

    On 4 April 2016, PM Narendra Modi returned back to India after his three nation visit to Belgium, United States and Saudi Arabia.

    Modi's visit started from 30 March to 3 April 2016, He met several leaders and also participated in two different summits, namely India-EU summit in Brussels and 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC.

    Know About Important Highlights Of The Visit :

    Belgium -

    Narendra Modi attended 13th India-EU summit and held meeting with Belgium Prime Minister Charles Michel.

    During this visit, the two nations released a joint statement and an agenda that will serve as a roadmap for EU-India cooperation in what is referred to as Action 2020.

    United States –

    Modi’s  two-day summit highlighted achievements and commitments of several countries towards safeguarding nuclear devices and technologies and reducing the threat of nuclear terrorism.

    Modi also announced a contribution of one million US dollars to Nuclear Security Fund of International Atomic Energy Agency.

    Saudi Arabia –

    In Riyadh, Prime Minister inspected the guard of honour at the Ceremonial Welcome

    India and Saudi Arabia signed 5 agreements and MoUs.

    Important To Mention : Prime Minister Narendra Modi was confered with highest civilian award of Saudi Arabia - "the King Abdulaziz Sash"

    Who has won 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix - Nico Rosberg

    On 3 April 2016, Germany’s Nico Rosberg who is a mercedes driver won the 2016 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. This final race was held at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir near the capital Manama.

    Nico Rosberg's 16th Formula One victory was also his fifth in succession after he won the final 4 races of 2015 season and the 2016 Australian Grand Prix.

    Nico Erik Rosberg is a German racing driver for Mercedes Formula One team. He races under the German flag in Formula One, and has also briefly competed for Finland very early in his career. He holds dual nationality of these two countries.

    Which Two UN Agencies have released Global Report on Urban Health – WHO & UN-Habitat

    Two UN agencies WHO (The World Health Organisation) and UN-Habitat (The United Nations Human Settlements Programme released a report titled Global report on urban health: equitable, healthier cities for sustainable development, 2016.

    Do You Know - This report updates the 2010 joint WHO/UN-Habitat global report - Hidden Cities: Unmasking and Overcoming Urban Health Inequities - with the latest evidence on urban health inequity patterns and their social, economic and environmental determinants.

    By achieving universal urban health coverage, the report further documents opportunities for joint action to realize the goals enshrined in the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.

    Who took oath as first woman Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir - Mehbooba Mufti

    On 4 April 2016, Mehbooba Mufti took oath as the first woman Chief Minister (CM) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) at Raj Bhawan in Jammu. The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by J&K Governor NN Vohra.

    Whereas, Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Nirmal Singh took oath as Deputy Chief Minister.

    Who Is Mehbooba Mufti?

    • Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed is the 12th and current Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
    • The first woman to hold the office, she succeeded her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the role, a few months after his death in January 2016.
    • Mehbooba Mufti is the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
    • She is currently a Member of Parliament, representing Anantnag in the 16th Lok Sabha; she will likely vacate this role in light of her chief ministership.
    • She had previously represented Anantnag in the 14th Lok Sabha (2004-09) but did not contest the 2009 election for the 15th Lok Sabha.
