    World Health Day observed across the globe  on - 7th April 2018

    World Health Day was celebrated across the world on April 7th , 2018. The day also celebrates the 70th anniversary of WHO.
    The theme of World Health Day is ‘Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere’ and the theme is ‘Health for All’. The aim along with others such as human rights, environment, threatened species and peace are of universal concern to people around the globe. 
    Key Importance

    • Some nations have already completed significant development towards universal health coverage. 
      However, half of the world’s population is still not able to get the health services they require.
    • If nations are to attain the Sustainable Development Goals aim, 1 billion extra people require to advantageous from health services by 2023.
    • On the event of its 70th anniversary, World Health Organisation calls upon all world privileged to live up to the initiatives they made when they decided to the SDG in 2015 and commit to concrete phases to advance #HealthForAll.

    Global Logistics Summit 2018 began in New Delhi on - 5th April 2018

    The Global Logistics Summit was organised in New Delhi from April 5th -6th , 2018 to advance logistics and connectivity which are vigorous for growing intra-state and international business flows.
    The summit was planned by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry along with
    FICCI and World Bank Group. It delivered platform to grasp discussions for global experts, researchers,
    government administrators and private sector and industry senates.
    Logistic Sector

    • The Logistic sector consists of transportation, material-handling, warehouse handling, packaging,
      shipping, inventory administration, and procurement, and customs service.
    • Government has defined logistic as multimodal logistics park with a least investment of Rupees 50 crores and least area of ten acres. In November 2017, logistic sector was approved infrastructure status.

    • India devotes about 14.4 per cent of its Gross Domestic Production on logistics and transportation
      sector.
    • It engages more than 45 million people around nation and its sub-sectors increasing at rate of 15
      percent and even 30-40 per cent annually.
    • It delivers efficient and low-cost flow of goods from production sector on which other profitable sectors are dependent.
