    Which two countries signed MoUs on drug trafficking, pulse trading & sports - India, Mozambique

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 7th July 2016 India and Mozambique together signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in areas of drug trafficking, pulse trading and sports.

    Please Note: During the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mozambique., these MoUs were signed between the two countries at Maputo, Mozambique.

    Other MoUs which were signed are -

    • Firstly, MoU on cooperation in the field of youth affairs and sports.
    • Secondly, MoU on reduction of drug trafficking and psychotropic substances and related materials.

    Which tech gaint acquired Paris-based startup Moodstocks – Google

    On 6th July 2016, Search Giant Google acquired Moodstocks, which a startup is based out of Paris that will develop machine-learning based image recognition technology for smartphones.
    Moodstocks' application programming interface (API) for developers are described mainly as the Shazam for images. With this acquisition, Moodstocks’ API and SDK will be discontinued soon.
    However, the main highlight of the acquisition is that terms of the deal were not disclosed.
    Know About Moodstocks –

    • It was co-founded by Denis Brule and Cedric Deltheil too.
    • This company has also developed technology that includes smartphones in identifying the objects captured by their cameras.

    Whose drug control meeting begins in New Delhi – BRICS

    In national capital New Delhi, the second anti-drug working group meeting of heads of anti-narcotics agencies of BRICS countries began to discuss those issues which are related to narco-terrorism and money laundering.
    Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated this one day meeting. It has also been organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India.

    • The BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa), from the countries member the meeting will see participation of delegates.
    • Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, who is a Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), is all set to head the Indian delegation, which will comprise officers from the Department of Revenue, Union Ministry of Finance, Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Union Ministry of Health and Family welfare and Narcotics Control Bureau, Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

    India’s first Centre of Excellence on Internet of Things is unveiled by - NASSCOM

    On 7th July 2016, The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) have unveiled India’s first Centre of Excellence, which is focused on Internet of Things (CoE- IoT) at its Startup Warehouse in Bengaluru.
    However, the centre was launched in a way to encourage start-ups to come up with all tech solutions centred on Internet of Things (IoT).

    • NASSCOM means National Association of Software and Services Companies, It is totally a trade association of Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
    • NASSCOM is a non-profit organization, which was established in 1988.
