    Miss America pageant 2014 title was bagged by Miss NY Kira Kazantsev

    On 14th September 2014, Miss New York Kira Kazantsev won the Miss America pageant title 2014. In this competition Miss Virginia Courtney Paige Garrett was first runner up.

    Dr K K Paul sworn in as Governor of Manipur

    On 15th September 2014, Dr Krishan Kant Paul sworned in as 15th Governor of Manipur. As we are already aware that Mr. Vinod Kumar Duggal resigned as Governor of Manipur earlier.

    Dr Krishan Kant Paul took oath at a function held in Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. Oath was administered by High Court of Manipur Chief Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra.

    Rs 930 Crore Scheme approved by CCEA for Capital Goods Sector

    On 15th September 2014 CCEA approved Rs. 930 crore scheme for making India's capital goods sector globally competitive.

    CCEA was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself and this was given title "Enhancement of Competitiveness of the Capital Goods Sector". This scheme will cover sectors such as machine tools, textile machinery, construction and mining machinery and process plant machinery etc.

    National AYUSH Mission launched by Union Cabinet

    On 15th September 2014, The Union Cabinet approved the launching of National AYUSH Mission (NAM). AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.

    This mission is aimed at addressing the gaps in health services particularly in vulnerable and far-off areas of India. The Mission will help in improvent in AYUSH education and AYUSH services. This will also be focused on improving its quality and delivery.

    Finally Boxing India earned Official Recognition from AIBA

    On 15th September 2014 there was a good news for Boxing India and its fans as AIBA Executive Committee Bureau formally recognised Boxing India as the provisional AIBA National Federation to represent the sport of boxing in India.

    On 16th September International Day for preservation of Ozone Layer observed across the globe

    On 16th September 2014, The International Day for the preservation of the Ozone Layer was observed across the globe. Theme of this year was "Ozone Layer Protection: The Mission Goes On".

    In 1994 UN General Assembly proclaimed 16 September as the International Day for preservation of Ozone Layer and commemorated the date of the signing of 1987 Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

    G-20 Labour and Employment Ministerial meet held in Melbourne, Australia

    From 10 Sep 2014 to 11th Sep 2014, The G-20 Labour and Employment Ministerial meet was held at Melbourne, Australia. This was called to put forward recommendations to G20 Leaders. This was focused to increase job growth across the G20 and other concerns of employment.

    7 pacts signed to strengthen Strategic Partnership between India - Vietnam

    On 15th September 2014 India and Vietnam signed seven pacts to further strengthen their strategic partnership in key sectors. These important pacts were inked in the presence of President of India Pranab Mukherjee and his Vietnamese Counterpart Truong Tan Sang.

    On 15th September 2014, Indian-origin Antara Haldar became the first non-European law lecturer at Cambridge University. Mumbai born Antara Haldar is only 28 years old. She will be doing deep study on Gujarat development model specially on texttiles as case study.
