SC asks Mudgal committee to further investigate IPL 2013 Spot Fixing Scandal
On 22nd April 2014, The Supreme Court of India asked Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee to investigate the IPL 2013 spot fixing and betting scandal. It has also directed the committee to investigate in particular the 13 names mentioned in the sealed envelope.

The Supreme Court of India in October 2013 constituted a three-man panel under Retired Justice Mudgal, to investigate the scandal. Further, the committee submitted its report to the Supreme Court on 10 February 2014 after completing a four month probe.
India and Bhutan signed pact for developing hydropower projects
On 22nd April 2014, India and Bhutan signed a pact for development of joint hydropower projects in a bid to further strengthen their bilateral strategic partnership.
The framework "Inter-Governmental Agreement" between Bhutan and India for the development of joint venture hydropower projects through the public sector undertakings of the two governments.
The four projects are which will come under this pact are :
1. 600 MW Kholongchu project
2. 180 MW Bunakha project (with 230 MW downstream benefit from Tala, Chukha and Wangchu HEPs)
3. 570 MW Wangchu project
4. 770 MW Chamkarchu project
World Women's Senior snooker title won by Chitra Magimairaj
Chitra Magimairaj won Senior snooker title in the World Snooker Championships in the WLBSA event. Chitra Magimairaj is from Bangalore. She won all her four matches without dropping a single set against accomplished snooker players from across 13 countries.

Important to note :
Chitra Magimairaj is former World Billiards champion and she has bagged three golds, three silvers and three bronze medals in the WLBSA event so far.
Mondelez India Foods Ltd is new name of Cadbury India
Cadbury India has changed its name to Mondelez India Foods Limited. Cadbury India was a a subsidiary of Mondelez International.
As per company, The change in name of Cadbury is in line with the gradual changeover of the name of all subsidiaries of Mondelez International globally.
Mondelez India Foods Ltd managing director Manu Anand said, "With the change in name of the company to Mondelez India Foods Limited, we conclude the process of transition that began over two years ago."

Pakistan successfully tested short range ballistic Missile Ghazanvi
On 22nd April 2014, Pakistan successfully test-fired short range ballistic missile Hatf-III named Ghazanvi in Rawalpindi. This missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 290 kilometres.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood congratulated all the Scientists and Engineers for the successful launch of Ghaznavi Missile. He regarded the testing of missile as another mile stone which has further strengthened the defence potential of Pakistan besides assuring peace in the region.
