    Employee Compensation (Amendment) Bill, 2016 was passed by - Rajya Sabha

    On 22nd March 2017, Rajya Sabha passed Employee's Compensation (Amendment) Bill, 2017. This bill was passed in Lok Sabha on 9th August 2016 with for ammendment in Employee's Compensation Act, 1923.

    Its focus is on monetary help to employees and their dependants in the case of injury by industrial accidents, which include occupational diseases.

    As per this bill employer will have to inform employee on his/her right to compensation in writing and not doing so will be an offence.

    Winding up of CHBL & ICBL was approved by - Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs

    On 23rd March 2017, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved closure of CREDA HPCL Biofuel Ltd (CHBL) and IndianOil - Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) Biofuels Limited (ICBL). Though important to mention here that no man power exists on rolls of these two entities so no loss of jobs will occur.

    Maritime security products developed by DRDO handed over to Indian Navy by - Arun Jailtley

    On 24th March 2017, Union Minister of Defence, Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitley handed over three martime security systems to Indian Navy. These systems are developed by DRDO. Following are these systems :

    1. USHUS-II Submarine Sonar

    2. Directing Gear for Hull Mounted Sonar Array

    3. RLG based Inertial Navigation System for Ship Applications (INS-SA)

    These systems were handed over to Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba by Minister.
