    Who was appointed as first Chairman of Banks Board Bureau - Vinod Rai

    Among Important Banking Current Affairs, On 28th Feb 2016, Mr Vinod Rai was appointed as first chairman of Banks Board Bureau. Banks Board Bureau will be advising government on top level appointments at public sector lenders and will also help government to address the bad loans problems.

    Apart from Mr Vinod Rai, Former Joint director of ICICI Bank H N Sinor, Former CMD of Bank of Baroda Anil K Khandelwal and rating agency CRISIL’s former chief Rupa Kudwa have been appointed members.

    Name of India's oldest first class cricketer who passed away - BK Garudachar

    On 26th Feb 2016, Oldest first class cricketer of India BK Garudachar passed away. He was 99 years old.

    He made total 1126 runs with an average 29.63. He played 27 matches between 1935 and 1946. 

    Who inaugurated Kerala Tourism's Muziris Heritage Project - President Pranab Mukherjee

    On 27th Feb 2016, Kerala Tourism's Muziris Heritage Project (MHP) at Trissur in Kerala was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee. This project is India's largest heritage conservation project and also it will be first green project of Kerela Govt. History and heritage of Muziris described by Roman Naturalist Pliny the Elder will be demonstrated.

    UltraTech of Aditya Birla bought which cement plant's - JP's cement plants for Rs 16,500 cr

    On 28th Feb 2016, UltraTech announced acquisition of JP Group's cement plants. This deal was of about 2.5 billion USD (about 16,500 crore). Cement plants bought have total capacity of 22.4 MTPA (million tons per annum) situated in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

    UltraTech is a firm owned by Aditya Birla Group.
