    Go through the Syllabus & Mark Distribution

    Before you start with the preparation, you should know the full Syllabus for the exam & Marks Distribution for each topic which will help you segregate & prioritize your work accordingly.

    You should be thoroughly aware of the marks distribution and weightage of each section which is carried in the exam.

    1. How to Prepare for Economics & Social Issues – RBI Grade B Exam

    Particularly in this exam, one thing must be kept in mind is that this paper is not just about economics but also about Social Issues as well. This will give your answer more weight as writing about social milieus is always helpful as it goes with the current topic and scenario. Your preparation should be of optimum level to be able to crack the exam.  This also helps the examiner build confidence in your answers which can fetch more marks in your overall exam.

     First of all, go through the sample paper. This helps you understand the trending pattern of previous years what type of questions are repeated and what are more important than the latter ones.

    Clear your concepts of macroeconomics like national income, repo rate, bank rate, fiscal deficit, revenue deficit, budget, inflation, banking sector which are very crucial. This is the base of economics.

    1. How to Prepare and build command on English– RBI Grade B Descriptive Exam

    This particular section is the deciding factor in your selection. You should aim to score minimum 65-70 marks in this exam. English section comprises of 3 parts –Essay, Precis Writing & Reading Comprehension as well which is to be thoroughly done. This section is to check your writing skills and not your knowledge. Pay good attention to following aspects.

    • Ensure correct usage of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
    • Do stick to the word limit.
    • Avoid using difficult and fancy words. It complexes the overall statement and drifts apart from the topic.
    • Read the newspaper. It helps you be well versed with the trends, gives you more horizon to write. This also makes your answer look more knowledgeable and makes you stand apart.
    • Make short notes of important facts and figures and underline them.
    • Go through some sample precis writing & practice a few questions before the exam to be thorough in them.
    • There are certain rules of precis writing – writing 1/3rd words, use your own words, give a suitable title, don’t changing the tone of the passage etc.
    • In the English exam, you will have to type on the keyboard. For those who type slowly, do not take the time limit for granted.
    • The keyboard will be of the old type so try practicing to be well versed with the key placement to avoid mistakes.

    1. How to Prepare for Finance and Management – RBI Grade B Exam.

     This section for some might be difficult because of its technical nature in it. You should aim to score at least 60 marks in it. Most of you might not have a background in finance and management, so this is the section you should work on it the most. Off lately, there were around 6-8 numerical questions asked from this section. So be thorough with this part as this too can fetch good marks but with adequate knowledge in it.

    Also Make sure you are aware of topics like Inflation, Banking Sector, Budget, Derivatives, Corporate, Governance, Portfolio investment. These are some common topics which can be asked in the exam as they are the base of economical sector – on which economy runs around.

    1. Go through Previous Year Questions Papers

     Going through previous year question papers will help you notice the trend in questions.

    They will also make you practice more questions before the exam.
