    Strategy to score good in Quantitative Analysis for SBI PO Examination

    In Time, Speed & Distance, you can find problem on trains, Boat & Stream, Average Speed also. You are sure to find at least 1 and sometimes 2-3 problems from these topics in the question paper. Also, these topics are tricky, so make sure to get in good practice to get a good score.

    In Time & Work, you may find problems on Work Efficiency, Wages and Pipes & Cisterns. Try at least 50 questions of each type.

    In Menstruation, there are different topics like, Cubes, Cuboids, Square, Rectangle, Cylinder, Sphere, Circle, Semicircle, Cone etc. Make a cheat sheet (don’t take it into the exam hall :P) to remember all the formulas. It will help you a lot in the exam.

    Data Sufficiency

    When attempting, questions from this chapter may not be there because the Mains paper this year has a separate section called Data Analysis & Interpretation. The Mains paper will likely contain quite a lot similar questions of this type.

    However if you encounter problems from this chapter, chances are you will see them in a bunch of 5 problems. Problems from all the above chapters come under this category. In the data sufficiency questions, 1 question and 2 statements will be given to you. You will have to decide, whether these two statements are sufficient to give answer for the question or not.

     Understanding of PO Profile

    Understanding the job profile, job role & job responsibilities of a SBI PO is very crucial just like paying attention to the salary you will receive after the job. Knowing the functions of the job beforehand will not only save you from unexpected surprises while you are on duty but also will give you an extra edge in answering questions during personal interviews. All selected candidates for officer position will be on a period of two years’ probation. They are assessed either through a short test or performance review and confirmed as permanent employees after the probation period. They are even promoted to Scale level II if they perform very well in the Confirmation exam.

    Age Limit:

    The lower limit age is 21 years and the upper limit age is 30 years to appear for the SBI PO recruitment. Age relaxation provided to reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the constitutional Affirmation policy. We are explaining the same below-

    •  For OBC Candidates – Age relaxation is upto 3 years
    • For SC/ST Candidates, Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) who have given 5 years of military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) other than through dismissal on charge of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability.
    • Those who are domiciled in Kashmir division of the state of J&K also have the age relaxation of up to 5 years.
    • For persons With Disabilities (PWD):
    • If candidates are PWD  and SC/ST , Age relaxation is up to 15 Years  
    • If candidates are PWD and OBC, Age relaxation is up to 13 Years  
    • If candidates are PWD and from General Category, Age relaxation is up to 10 Years  

    IMPORTANT DATES for the SBI PO Examination

    The four exams for the selection of SBI PO are going to be held on different dates provided by the bank. The first exam would be held first is the preliminary one and then second, the exam is going to be held in an ordered sequence is Mains. After qualifying first exam aspirants can only then appear in the second exam and there needs to be a particular time gap between the exams so that candidates can prepare it in a limited time.

    SALARY of an SBI Probationary Officer

    The basic salary of a newly recruited PO is Rs. 27620. Along with this officer is also given Dearness Allowance (DA), CCA, HRA Furniture Allowance, Medical Insurance, Travelling Allowance, Petrol leading to gross salary with HRA between 7.55 lakhs and 12.93 lakhs depending upton their place of posting and other factors. 

    Other than these, POs are given other benefits too which are – Travel Allowance, Month to Month Benefits, Miscellaneous Benefits, Smart Compensation Package.
