    SSC Stenographer Exam Preparation

    The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examinations are those which are held to recruit the candidates to various posts inthe Central Government and its various departments. This exam is conducted all over India and anyone who matches the eligibility can appear for this exam. The recruit can get a gazetted or non- gazzeted post. 

    SSC STENTOGRAPHER EXAMINATION                                           

    Stenographer exam for grade C and D post are held once every year. In order to get a job in stenographer department, it should be noted that Vacancies of Stenographer Grade “C” and Stenographers Grade “D” are in Central Government sector, also including subordinate offices in other states and union territories. Candidates who have cleared 12th standard can fill the form as soon as it available and those students who are currently preparing for their final examination of 12th standard can also apply. A student needs to prepare a strategy for studying as the completion will only get tougher. To get a job profile is very hard as the merit is very high. So to clear this exam, students need to prepare hard and practice regularly. SSC conducts this exam somewhere in the month of September which can also change according to their plans. So in this Article we discuss how to prepare for SSC Stenographer exam and what topics should we give more time and the other on which we should spend lesser?

    PATTERN FOR SSC STENOGRAPHER PREPARATION

    The stenographer examination will comprise to two parts. The first part will be conducted online and the second part of the examination includes a typing test. Details of both the parts are mentioned below:

    Written Test (Part-I)

    • The SSC Stenographer exam will be a computer based test (CBT).
    • The computer-based test (CBT) will have three sections of General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension.
    • The question paper will be of 200 marks.
    • Negative marking will not take place in this exam, so the candidates have the right to guess the answers.

     Typing Test (Part-II)

    • For the post of Stenographer, the typing test will be required to qualify with the typing speed of 100 words per minute.
    • For the post of Stenographer, the typing test will be required to qualify with the typing speed of 80 words per minute (wpm).
    • The time duration for the typing test will be for 10 minutes.

    SYLLABUS FOR SSC STENOGRAPHER

    • General intelligence and reasoning section will include the questions of both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. You do not need to spend most of the time on this section as general and mind confusing questions are asked.
    • GK has the most comprehensive syllabus and takes much more time comparatively to other section of this exam.
    • Pay attention to the questions asked in the previous year papers from science, politics, history and geography. Most of the questions get repeated each year.
    • The topics that will include in the quantitative section are mentioned as follows: number system, percentage, ratio and proportion, set theory and Venn diagram, Tie and distance, Profit and loss and such others.
    • All the questions will be high school based. Candidates should spend most of the time on the quantitative section as the mistakes will happen in this section and to neglect those mistakes you need to practice more on quantitative.
    • The section of the English language will include the questions from the English grammar and from the English comprehension.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR SSC STENOGRAPHER

    • Educational Qualification:
      there are many different posts and the educational qualifications are also very different. Candidate should have a bachelor degree relevant of a subject from recognized institute recognized by UGC. If you are appearing in your final year of graduation, you are eligible provided you complete your degree.
    • Age Limit:
      Age limit varies for various posts as well. Candidates who are pursuing for this exam must be in the age of 18 to 27 years. The age relaxation will be given according to the government rules to the reserved candidates. To be sure of all the age limits, you can always go to SSC official websites as there are certain jobs that require different age limits
    • Citizenship:
      You must be citizen of India and or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1972 to permanently settle in India.

    SSC ADMIT CARD

    • SSC Steno Grade C & D would comprise of all the details of the candidate with exam duration, exam centre, and exam date along with the subjects.
    • Cross check all the important details like name, DOB, etc., if any errors are detected then immediately bring it to the notice of concerned officials.
    • All the documents used should be original otherwise they won’t be acceptable
    • No candidate should posses and kind of electronic material with them in the examination hall.
    • SSC stenographer admit card should be kept safe even after the examination as it is important during job selection
