    SSC Sub Inspector CAPF Exam Syllabus, Eligibility and Preparation Tips

    The Staff Selection Commission holds an examination for recruitment of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF in various different locations across the country once in every year. SSC SI recruitment shall is done on the basis of Written Examination, PET, PST and a Medical Test which are mandatory for all candidates.

    Only those candidates, who qualify paper-1 exam, are eligible to appear for PET, PST and Medical Test and then who clear the PET, PST and Medical Test will be allowed to appear in Paper-2 exam which will be held later on.

    • Exam Mode: Online for Paper-1 Exam & Paper-2 Exam

    ELIGIBILTY OF SSC SI CAPF EXAMINATION

    • Educational Qualification: a candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree through any recognized university.
    • Age Limit: Minimum age must be between the ages of 20 years and 25 years. Age relaxations are provided to reserved categories as per the government rules.
    • Physically handicapped individuals are not eligible for this exam.

    SELECTION PROCEDURE OF SSC SI CAPF EXAMINATION

    SSC SI CAPF selection process is prolonged in 3 stages:

    • Stage 1 – Written Test (Paper-1) (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
    • Stage 2 – Physical Endurance Test (PET), PST and Medical Test
    • Stage 3 – Written Test (Paper-2) (Objective Type) (200 Marks)

    In Case of Tie

    If a situation where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregates marks takes place, tie will be resolved by applying the following rules made by the SSC:

    • Total marks in written examination.
    • Marks in Paper-2
    • Marks in Paper-1
    • Who is senior according to the Date of birth.
    • Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appears

    SYLLABUS AND PATTERN OF SSC SI CAPF EXAMINATION

    • SSC SI CAPF Exam will be held in online mode of both Paper-1 Exam and Paper-2 Exam which are computer based exam.
    • The written exam will have two papers that are Paper-1 and Paper-2.
    • Paper 1 consists of 4 sections namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, General knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
    • Paper-1 will consist of 200 questions those are worth of 200 marks with exam duration of 2 hours.
    • Questions paper will also be set in Hindi only for part A, B and C of Paper-1 exam.
    • Paper-2 contains English Language & Comprehension.
    • Paper-2 carries 200 questions for 200 marks, exam duration is 2 hours.
    • In paper-1 and Paper-2, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
    • Both papers i.e. Paper-1 & Paper-2 will be objective type.

    PAPER 1

    Part A – General Intelligence & Reasoning:

    • It would include questions from the topics like verbal and non verbal grammar. This component includes questions on topics like analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgments, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning and many other similar topics mentioned further, the topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, and Symbolic/Number 9 Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams and sets, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing Address matching, Date & city matching Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding and decoding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence are the topics that include in General Intelligence & Reasoning section.

    Part B – General Awareness:

    • Questions in this section will be aiming to test the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Question are to be designed in a way to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc are all the topics that you need to memorize for the preparation of general awareness section

    Part C – Quantitative Aptitude:

    • The questions in this section are designed to test the ability of candidate in appropriate use of numbers and number sense. The test will be aiming upon computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centers, congruence and similarity of triangles, circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, right circular cylinder, Regular Polygons, circle, Right Prism, right circular cone, Sphere, Hemispheres, rectangular Parallelepiped, regular right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and radian Measures, Standard Identities, complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

    Part D – English Comprehension:

    • This section will test the candidate’s ability to understand correct English and his/her basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.

    PAPER 2

    English Language & Comprehension:

    • Questions in this section will be designed to test the candidate’s ability, understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based upon the recognition of error, filling in the blanks by using verbs, preposition, articles, etc, Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.

    ADMIT CARD

    The SSC will release admit card for SI CAPF paper-1 exam and SI CAPF paper-2 exam at the time of notification release. The admit card will be available to download for only two weeks before the exam date. Admit card will not send by the mail post by the SSC but candidates are required to download the admit card from the official website of SSC or candidates can also download their admit card from their website. Candidates must carry their admit card at the time of exam or they will not be permitted to give the examination.

    CUT OFF

    Cut off is known as a minimum mark which candidates need to score in order to clear the exam. SSC will publish the separate cut off marks for Male & Female aspirants as well as those candidates who belong to different categories. The cut off marks for the written exam Paper- 1 and Paper-2 will be mentioned on the official website as soon as the notification is out.
