Who is the author of To the Brink and Back: India's 1991 Story - Jairam Ramesh

Among the important National Current Affairs, In September 2015, The book titled To the Brink and Back: India's 1991 Story by Jairam Ramesh was released. He is the former Union Environment and Forest Minister (Independent Charge).

The book describes the fast-paced changes in the economic sector introduced by the duo Manmohan Singh and P V Narasimha Rao in 1991.

The book recounts author’s observations when he was part of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) during first 90 days of the Narasimha Rao’s government.

It contains key documents and notes, placed for the first time in the public domain; the personal papers of Narasimha Rao; private conversations with Manmohan Singh; Parliament proceedings; and the minutes of seminal Congress meetings.

Currently, Jairam Ramesh is a member of the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh and also Chair of the Future Earth Engagement Committee, a research platform on global sustainabilitys.

Who has won 2015 Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1 - Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton

Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 6th September 2015, 2015 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix title was won by Mercedes racing driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain in the final race held at Monza near Milan in Italy.

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel finished second while Felipe Masse (Williams) was at the third positions.

Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg of Force India stood at the 5th and 6th positions respectively.

It was the third victory of Hamilton at the Monza circuit. Earlier he has won the title in 2012 and 2014.

In the 2015 season, it was also the 7th title for Hamilton as he won the titles in Bahrain, Canada, Australia, China, the UK, Italy and Belgium.

Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers of the G20 members, heads and senior representatives of the relevant international organizations and invited countries attended the meeting.

Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Raghuram Rajan and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley represented India in the meeting.

Issues concerning to current global economy including weakening of Chinese currency (Yuan) and likely impact of change in interest rates by the Federal Reserve of the USA were reviewed in the meeting.

In November 2015, Financial programme of the Antalya Summit of the G20 leaders is scheduled to be held in Turkey.

Name the Indian boxer who has won silver medal in 75 kg category at 2015 Asian Boxing Championships - Vikas

Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 5th September 2015, Indian boxer Vikas Krishan (75kg) won the silver medal in the 2015 Asian Boxing Championships.

India finished their campaign with one silver and three bronze medals. Satish Kumar (+91kg), L Devendro Singh (49kg) and Shiva Thapa (56kg) won the bronze medals.

Among the record 28 countries which participated in the Asian Boxing Championships, India finished off the campaign with creditable fourth with 16 points.

Kazakhstan (42 points), Uzbekistan (38 points) and hosts Thailand (17 points) were the top three table-toppers respectively.

Puducherry government announced annual Teacher's Day awards

Among the important National Current Affairs, On 5th September 2015, Puducherry Government awarded 20 teachers from four regions of the Union Territory in different categories with the annual State Best Teachers’ Awards 2015.

The awards were distributed by the Chief Minister N Rangasamy to recognise their professional competence and achievement in the field of education at various levels and to encourage the teaching community.

Name the temple inaugrated under India-Nepal Economic programme - Bala Tripura Sundari Devi Temple

On 5th September 2015, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae inaugurated the newly renovated Bala Tripura Sundari Devi Temple at Tripurakot located on the bank of glacial river Thuli Bheri in Dolpa district of Nepal.

With the help of 33.3 million Nepali rupees financial support from the Indian government the temple was constructed.

Shree Bala Tripura Sundari Devi Temple has a great socio-cultural relevance in the life of the people of the Dolpa district and is a historic structure said to be more than 900 years old. The temple has been renovated with improved facilities for 20000 pilgrims visiting the temple every year.

Apart from this, school building of Shree Chandannath HS School and Khalanga Bazar, in Jumla district, constructed with Government of India at a grant assistance of 24.94 million Nepali Rupees was also inaugrated.

The school was established in 1951 and was upgraded to Higher Secondary school in 2006. Shree Chandannath HS School is one of the important educational institutions of this remote district in Nepal’s mid western region.

On the other hand, the Union Government also extended its assistance of around 300 million Nepali rupees for renovation, restoration, updation of various religious, cultural and historical sites of Nepal.

Extension of Delhi Metro Line till Faridabad was inaugrated by - Prime Minister Modi

On 6th September 2015, the extension of Delhi Metro connecting Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad was inaugrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With the help of this extension till Faridabad, an industrial hub in Haryana, around two lakh daily passengers between the national capital and the industrial hub in Haryana will be benefitted.

The total expenditure of the project from Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar was around 2500 crore rupees.

Out of this, 400 crore rupees was spent by Delhi Metro, 1557 crore rupees was given by the Haryana Government and 537 crore rupees was contributed by the Union Government.
