Which state government appointed two-member inquiry panel to probe into Jat quota stir - Haryana Government

Haryana government appointed a two-member Commission of Inquiry, headed by former Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice S N Jha, to probe the sequence of events leading to violence during the Jat agitation for reservation in February this year. 

This commission is set up under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952. 

Another Inquiry Commission, which is headed by retired IPS officer Parkash Singh, is already probing into the “lapses on part of government officials in tackling the Jat agitation and subsequent arson”. 

Do You Know – 

•The commission is set up to probe facts and circumstances relating to violence which leads loss of lives, damage to properties, both private and public during the agitation in several towns of Haryana.

•The commission will work and search to find out if there was any deep rooted conspiracy, if any, to damage the social fabric of the society.

Sajibu Cheiraoba celebrated with religious fervor in which state – Manipur

Sajibu Cheiraoba, which is a traditional festival that marks New Year of the Meiteis (majority ethnic group) of Manipur, was celebrated on 8 April 2016. 

In Manipur, it was celebrated with cultural gusto and religious fervor.

This festival is celebrated every year on the first day of Sajibu month. People, on this day arrange a joint family feast in which traditional cuisines are offered to local deities at the entrance gates of the houses.

Know About Sajibu Cheiraoba – 

•Sajibu Cheiraoba is the new year of the Meiteis of Manipur.

•On the first lunar day of the lunar month Sajibu, this festival is observed, and that’s why it is also known as Sajibu Cheiraoba.

Which state became the first state to bring and pass a land title bill – Rajasthan

In first week of April 2016, Rajasthan Assembly passed the Rajasthan Urban Land (Certification of Titles) Bill, 2016. 

Now, Rajasthan also became the first state to bring and pass a land title bill.

This is a Bill that will give a clear title to the owner and reduce litigations in the courts was passed by voice vote. 

Union Government approved which project for Gurgaon - Metrino Pod Taxi

The Union Government approved country’s first Metrino Pod project for Gurgaon, for this project, the state government would not have to pay anything. The work on this project is all set to start by 1 June 2016.

Rao Narbir Singh, who is a Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, said that the National Highway Authority of India has also submitted the feasibility report for this Metrino Pod taxi project. The fare of this Metrino Pod taxi would be similar to that of the Metro.

Know About Metrino Pod Taxi – 

•The Metrino is a PRT system in which pods will be suspended from an overhead rail. Every pod can take up to 5 passengers. 

•16 stations have been planned for this pilot project route which is going to start near Ambience Mall.
