    Roger Federer won his 1000th ATP career win at Brisbane

    Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 11th January 2015, Roger Federer claimed his 1000th ATP career win at the Brisbane International. He defeated Canadian player Milos Raonic in the finals. It was his 1000th win and was 83rd career title.

    Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 inaugurated

    On 11th Janaury 2015, Vibrant Gujarat Summit was inaugurated at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This summit will be from 11th to 13th January 2015. At this summit many Indian and foreign companies announced huge investments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders from across the world were present at the moment.

    Mukesh Ambani chief of Reliance Industries announced to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in 12-18 months across businesses while Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group announced investment plans for Rs 20000 crore in Gujrat. 

    Australian mining giant Rio Tinto's CEO Sam Walsh announced that his group would be adding 30,000 jobs in diamond cutting industry in state. 

    Advanced EW suite Tejas-PV1 Aircraft successfully launched by DRDO

    Among the National Current Affairs On 10th January 2015, DRDO successfully tested advanced electronic warfare (EW) suite country's Light Combat Aircraft Tejas-PV1.

    In its press release DRDO said, "After obtaining due flight clearances and certification, the first flight sortie of LCA PV1 with the EW equipment operational took place today. The equipment was noted to be detecting radar signals operating in and around the flight path".

    World Hindi Day observed on 10th January 2015

    10th January was observed across the Globe as World Hindi Day. This day is observed globally annually to promote the use of Hindi language abroad.

    Novelist Robert Stone passed away

    On 10th January 2015, Award winning novelist Robert Stone passed away in Florida. He was 77 years old. 

    He was honoured with the National Book Award for Fiction in 1975 for his novel Dog Soldiers.
