    PM Narendra Modi inaugurates India’s first international exchange at - GIFT City

    Among Important National Current Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated India’s first international exchange India INX at the International Financial Service Centre (IFSC) of GIFT (Gujarat International Financial Tech) City Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 

    However India INX is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). 

    Here, it will enable Indian firms to compete on equal footing with offshore firms.

    January 2017 Global Economic Prospects report released by – World Bank

    Among Important International Current Affairs, on 10th January 2017 World Bank has released January 2017 Global Economic Prospects report. 

    According to the report, after a post-crisis low 2016, the global economy will accelerate moderately to about 2.7% in the year 2017.

    However, the growth will be carried on because obstacles to activity have moved away in emerging market and developing economy commodity exporters. 

    Also the report says that the obstacles receded when the domestic demand remains soild among emerging market and developing commodity.

    Here the report also highlights that the growth in advanced economies is expected to edge up to 1.8% in the year 2017.

    India’s first Student Startup and Innovation Policy launched by - Gujarat Government

    Among Important National Current Affairs, Gujarat government has launched India’s first student startup and innovation policy.

    The main aim behind this launch is to provide Rs 200 crore in the form of grants to ideas developed by students/ the policy also aims to support over 1,000 innovations per year in the state and create pre-incubation support in all universities of the state.
