    Who became second bowler to claim hat-trick on ODI debut - Kagiso Rabada

    Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 10th July 2015, Kagiso Rabada became second cricketer in the history of One Day International (ODI) cricket to claim a hat-trick on ODI debut. Kagiso Rabada belongs to South Africa team.

    Five British satellites were launched into space by - ISRO

    Among the Important National Current Affairs, On 10th July 2015, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched five British satellites into space from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotta. PSLV-C28 was used to launch these. These five satellites were three identical DMC3 optical earth observation satellites and two auxiliary satellites, viz. CBNT-1 and De-OrbitSail and were built by Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL). 

    This was the heaviest commercial luggage carried by a PSLV rocket to date.

    Who launched Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) - Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

    On 9th July 2015, Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) was launched by Former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi. This was launched with an aim to  inculcate a spirit of inquiry, creativity and love for Science and Mathematics in school children.

    This concept was developed by Ministry of Human Resource Development and under this concept government schools will be mentored by Institutes like IITs/IIMs/IISERs and other Central Universities and reputed organisations through innovative programmes, student exchanges, demonstrations, student visits, etc to develop a natural sense of passion towards learning of Science and Maths.

    Where was joint statement of India-Pakistan was released - Ufa (Russia)

    On 10th July 2015, On the sidelines of BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summits meeting of Indian PM Prime Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif was held.

    After that a joint statement from India and Pakistan was issued by the Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan.

    Following were the important Points :

    • The two leaders exchanged views on issues of bilateral and regional interest and condemned terrorism in all its form and agreed to cooperate with each other to eliminate its menace from South Asia
    • The two nations agreed to have a collective responsibility to ensure peace and promote development.

    Both leaders also agreed on following topics

    1.   To discuss all issues connected to terrorism, the National Security Advisors (NSAs) of the two countries will meet in New Delhi
    2.   Early meetings of DG BSF and DG Pakistan Rangers followed by that of DGMOs
    3.   They agreed to release the fishermen of each other countries, who went into custody along with their boat, within a period of 15 days.
    4.   Agreed to form a mechanism for facilitating religious terrorism 
    5.   The two leaders agreed to discuss the ways and means to expedite the trial pertaining to 2008 Mumbai attack including additional information like providing voice samples

    Where was new species of butterfly called Banded Tit discovered - Arunachal Pradesh

    New species of tiny butterfly named Banded Tit or Hypolycaena Narada were discovered in the green forests of the Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh. 

    State Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife and Biodiversity Dr. Yogesh announced about this in Itanagar on 10th July 2015.

    The species was recently described in a research paper by Dr Krushnamegh Kunte, a research scientist and faculty member at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru.

    India to be part of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) along with Pakistan by - 2016

    On 10th July 2015, India and Pakistan were accepted as the full members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Six members of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation are China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

    As far as India is concerned that India was having observer status of the group for past 10 years and now India will become full member by 2016. After this membership India will have access to the energy resources of Central Asia.

    Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is also known as Shanghai Pact which is an intergovernmental organization and was founded in Shanghai on 15 June 2001 by six countries China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. 

    World Population Day was observed on - 11th July

    Among the Important Days, On 11th July 2015, World Population Day was observed across the globe. Theme for year 2015 was "Vulnerable Populations in Emergencies".

    In India also National Workshop on vulnerable populations in emergencies was organised by Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry in New Delhi.
