    Which Indian ace shooter won bronze at ISSF World Cup - Jitu Rai

    On 12th April 2015, Ace Indian shooter Jitu Rai won bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup which was held in Changwon, South Korea.

    He scored 181.1 points in the final to won the bronze. Jin Jongoh of South Korea won gold medal while Naung Ye Tun of Myanmar won silver medal. 

    Asteroid 316201 was named after - Malala Yousafzai

    Youngest Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who is also girl's education campaigner was honoured by NASA after naming an asteroid 316201 after her name. This asteroid was named as '316201 Malala' by Amy Mainzer, astronomer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, United States under the International Astronomical Union rules.

    This asteroid is located in the Main Belt between Mars and Jupiter and it orbits around the Sun every 5.5 years and is more-than 2 mile wide.

    Who won $15,000 ITF Futures tournament title - Yuki Bhambri

    Among the Important Sports Current Affairs on 11th April 2015, Yuki Bhambri won 15,000 US Dollar ITF Futures tournament title after defeating Dzmitry Zhyrmont of Belarus in the finals. Final match was held at Karshi, Uzbekistan.

    This win also has ensured Yuki's entry into the French Open qualifying event which will be the Clay Court Grand Slam that will begin on the 19th May 2015.

    "Songs and Dances of the North East" festival on April 11, 2015 inaugurated by - President Pranab Mukherjee

    On 11th April 2015, A cultural festival named "First Songs and Dances of the North East" was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee in the New Delhi. This festival was organized by Government of Meghalaya and sponsored by the North Eastern Council.

    This was organized with an aim to show the culture of India's northeast region and highlight the immense contribution made by the people of the region in nation building.
