According to Wildlife Groups which animal population has gone up worldwide: Tiger Population

On 10 April 2016, Wildlife Groups The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Global Tiger Forum (GTF) announced that after a century of constant decline, global wild tiger populations have increased.

According to WWF and GTF ‘The number of wild tigers has been revised to 3,890, based on the best available data.’

Both the wildlife group said that this updated minimum figure, compiled from International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) data and the latest national tiger surveys, indicates an increase on the 2010 estimate of “as few as 3,200″.

Union Government signed which player to endorse ‘I Support Skill India’ campaign - Sachin Tendulkar

In the second week of April 2016, Union Government signed Sachin Tendulkar to endorse the I Support Skill India campaign.

The main aim of this campaign is to reach out to the youth in more numbers and build awareness on the importance of skill development. 

Prime Minister’s Skill India Mission is all set to get a major boost with a true global icon Sachin Tendulkar and brand that disrupted the game of cricket through his skill sets and inspired generation.

Know About Skill India:

• Skill India is a campaign which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. It is an initiative of the Government of India. The aim of this campaign is to train over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022.

• The initiatives include National Skill Development Mission, National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme and the Skill Loan scheme.

Scientists discovered way to forecast what – Earthquakes

A team of scientists from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) at its Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) have discovered a way to forecast earthquakes based on tremors or earthquakes below a Richter scale of 2.

This study, led by Indian-origin researcher Deepa Mele Veedu, was published in scientific journal Nature.

Do You Know – 

• According to scientists, larger earthquakes are unlikely to occur following tremors or earthquakes below a Richter scale of 2 that are caused by small vibrations or slow fault movements.

• Whereas, the NTU team found that not only do these vibrations potentially point to an impending earthquake, but they also discovered a discernible pattern to them.

• The latest finding by the teams could potentially be applied in the seismic monitoring of the area to help better forecast large earthquakes in the region.

Chinese researchers introduced what to develop all-weather solar cell – Graphene

In April 2016, Chinese researchers developed Graphene, a new approach for making an all-weather solar cell that can generate electricity even during rains. 

A team from the Ocean University of China and Yunan Normal University developed graphene.

Know About Graphene – 

•Graphene, a two-dimensional (2D) form of carbon in which the atoms are bonded into a honeycomb arrangement.

•Graphene can bind positively charged ions with its electrons in aqueous solution.

•Graphene is rich in electrons that can move freely across the entire layer.

India celebrates which day on 10 April 2016 - World Homoeopathy Day

On 10 April 2016, World Homoeopathy Day was observed which was organised by India. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician.

Talking about the homoeopathic medicines, DC Capital Complex and Sandip Kr Singh said that these medicines are cost effective and have no side effects compared to other system of medicines.

About two centuries ago, the principles of Homeopathy was discovered by Hahnemann and developed it as a gentle healing system of medicine.

Know About Homeopathy – 

•Homeopathy is a medicine which was created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann.

•Homeopathy is a pseudoscience – a belief that is incorrectly presented as scientific. Homeopathic preparations are not effective for treating any condition.

•According to studies, it has been found that homeopathy to be no more effective than a placebo, suggesting that any positive feelings that follow treatment are only due to the placebo effect and normal recovery from illness.

Indus Towers appoints whom as CFO – Hemant Kumar Ruia

On 11 April 2016, the country's largest telecom tower firm Indus Towers appointed Hemant Kumar Ruia as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Ruia, before joining Indus Towers, worked as CFO at the Reliance Retail Ltd. 

At Reliance Office, he played the role of business partner across various brands with Reliance Retail - Reliance Fresh, Digital, Jewellery, Trends, Footwear and Reliance Markets.
