    Who is appointed as Chairman of National Safety Council (NSC) - K Satish Reddy

    On 11th May 2015, K Satish Reddy was appointed as the Chairman of the National Safety Council (NSC) by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.

    As the chairman, he will supervise its functioning in generating and developing initiatives on Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) at the national level.

    He succeeded Venu Srinivasan, the Chairman of Sundaram-Clayton Group, who was appointed to the post in July 2011.

    Name the first President of New Development Bank of BRICS nations - KV Kamath

    On 11th May 2015, Eminent banker Kundapur Vaman Kamath was appointed as the first President of the New Development Bank (NDB). He will serve after the bank becomes operational within one year for a period of five year.

    Presently, he is the Chairman of the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI), largest private sector bank of India. From 1996 to 2009, he had performed as ICICI Bank’s managing director and CEO.

    In 2008, he was honoured with Padma Bhushan Award.

    President of Japan’s SoftBank Corp. is - Nikesh Arora

    On 11th May 2015, Indian-born Nikesh Arora was appointed as the President of Japan’s multinational telecommunications and internet company SoftBank Corp.

    He will also perform as the Representative Director of SoftBank Corp according to the announcement made at the company’s earning conference.

    Prior to this, he had been the Vice Chairman of the company and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SB Group US, Inc. since September 2014.

    He has replaced Masayoshi Son, Chairman and CEO of the Softbank Corp.

    Name the newly appointed Minister of State for Employment in British Government - Indian-origin Priti Patel

    On 11th May 2015, Indian-origin Priti Patel was appointed as Minister of State for Employment in British Government. Prime Minister David Cameron after his surprise victory in general elections promoted Priti Patel to his Cabinet.

    Appointed as the new minister of state for employment in the Department of Work and Pensions, he will serve Cabinet as the senior-most Indian-origin member of the newly-elected British government.

    Where did India Post has launched its Dedicated E-Commerce Centre - New Delhi

    On 11th May 2015, to cater the e-commerce business enterprises, India Posts has launched a dedicated E-Commerce Centre in New Delhi. Union Communication and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad at Safdarjang, New Delhi launched the centre.

    Department of Posts through Delhi Postal Circle implemented this project. This centre will handle all the e-commerce business and is capable of handling 30000 parcels (articles) per day.

    It will also ease the collection of parcels from the e-commerce customers by processing and dispatching them within 24 hours to specific address. Fastest available transportation facility like flight or trains will be used for this purpose.

    Who is authorized to act as interim NHRC Chaiperson - Justice Cyriac Joseph

    On 11th May 2015, President Pranab Mukherjee authorized Justice (retd) Cyriac Joseph to act as the interim chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

    From 13th May 2015, he will act as the Chairperson of the Commission until the appointment of a new Chairperson in the NHRC.
