    India’s first Cybersecurity Engagement Centre in New Delhi launched by – Microsoft

    Among Important National Current Affairs, Software giant Microsoft India has launched its first full-scale Cybersecurity Engagement Centre (CSEC) in New Delhi. 

    However, it is Microsoft’s seventh Cybersecurity Centre in the world, which will function as a satellite to the Redmond Digital Crimes Unit (DCU).

    Also the first-of-its-kind centre in India will bring together Microsoft capabilities to foster deeper cybersecurity collaborations with public and private sector organisations.

    Who discovered mutated Atlantic killifish resistant to toxic waste 8,000 times – Researchers

    Among Important International Current Affairs, researchers discovered Atlantic killifish, a fish species which has evolved to be 8,000 times more resilient to toxic waste compared with normal fish. 

    However, the fish species lives in the heavily polluted East Coast estuaries of US such as the Elizabeth River in Virginia and the Newark Bay in New Jersey.

    However, these agreements were signed after delegation level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting President of Indonesia Joko Widodo in New Delhi.

    Who sworn in as UN Secretary General - Antonio Guterres 

    Among Important International Current Affairs, Former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres at the age of 67 was sworn in as the 9th UN Secretary-General.

    However, he was administered the Oath of Office by Peter Thomson, President of UN General Assembly at special plenary meeting. 

    He also succeeds Ban Ki-moon and shall have five-year term beginning January 1, 2017. Antonio Guterres was unanimously appointed by the UN General Assembly after the 15-nation UN Security Council had approved him in October 2016.
