    Union Government issues model guidelines for states to curb - Ponzi Schemes

    Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Government has finally issued model guidelines for states to regulate direct selling and multi-level marketing businesses to protect consumers from Ponzi frauds. 

    However, these model guidelines titled the Direct Selling Guidelines 2016 framework, which was released by Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi.

    Union Cabinet approves extension of contract with ISA for exploration of - Polymetallic Nodules

    Among Important International Current Affairs, The Union Cabinet has given the green signal and approved the extension of contract with and International Seabed Authority (ISA) for exploration of Polymetallic Nodules (PMS). 

    However, this contract is between Union Ministry of Earth Sciences and ISA. It has also been extended for a further period of 5 years (2017-22) as the earlier contract is expiring in March 2017.

    Establishment of Higher Education Financing Agency approved by - Union Cabinet

    Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Cabinet has finally approved the establishment of Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) to give a major push for creation of high quality infrastructure in premier educational institutions. 

    However, the HEFA will be jointly promoted by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and identified Promoter.

    Union Cabinet approves Bilateral Technical Arrangement between - India and Switzerland

    Among Important International Current Affairs, The Union Cabinet has given its approval for signing of the Bilateral Technical Arrangement (BTA) between India and Switzerland on the identification and return of Indian and Swiss Nationals and its implementation. 

    However, the conclusion of the BTA has been linked to the Visa Free Agreement for holders of Diplomatic passports as a package deal.

    Enhancing the buffer stock of pulses up to 20 lakh tones approved by – CCEA

    Among Important National Current Affairs, The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved enhancing the buffer stock for pulses up to 20 lakh tonnes. 

    However, this proposal in the regard was forwarded by the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

    First BRICS Wellness Workshop concludes in – Bengaluru

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 11th September 2016 The first BRICS Wellness Workshop concluded in Bengaluru, Karnataka. 

    On 10th September 2016, the workshop was inaugurated by Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar. 

    However, along with the workshop, National Fair on comprehensive Indian Medicine system (AROGYA) was also inaugurated in the city. 

    Here, the four day event is organized by Union Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS). 

    This fair will finally conclude on 13 September 2016.
