    World Day against Trafficking in Persons observed on - 30th July

    On 30th July 2018, The World Day against Trafficking in Persons was observed across the globe. Theme of this year was "Responding to the trafficking of children and young people".

    Theme of this year also reflects about the problem that one third of trafficking victims are children. As per International Labour Organisation, around 21 million people are victims of forced labour globally which includes human trafficking victims for labour and sexual exploitation. 71 percent of trafficking victims are women and girls.

    Any authority can't take any action on the basis of Assam-NRC Draft - Supreme Court

    On 31st July 2018, The Supreme Court ruled that no authority can take any action against anyone on the basis of National Register of Citizens (NRC) prepared for State of Assam. As there are already many concerns about the exclusion of approximately forty lakh persons from the final draft list of NRC.

    Concerned Ministry was also directed to adopt a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to deal with claims and objections regarding the draft NRC.

    Meanwhile Election Commission has also made it clear that explusion from NRC does'nt mean removal from electoral roll.

    Health Ministry inked MoU with Ministry of Electronics to facilitate access to - Ayushman Bharat

     

    On 31st July 2018, National Health Agency (NHA) inked a MoU with Common Service Centres (CSC) scheme under the Digital India Programm with an aim to facilitate access to Ayushman Bharat. Important to mention here that National Health Agency is apex body for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM).

    CEO of National Health Agency (NHA) Dr Indu Bhushan and CEO of Common Service Centres-SPV Dr Dinesh Tyagi signed this MoU. This integration will give more accessibility and transparency in the beneficiary validation process and will also help in spreading more awareness.

    Proposal of delinking Aadhaar and social welfare benefits approved by - Delhi Government

    On 31st July 2018, Delhi government approved a proposal of delinking Aadhar with social welfare schemes. This proposal was approved during meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This will allow Social Welfare department to remit pensions which were stopped due to lack of Aadhaar linkage.
