    Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited inked deal with NYK Auto Logistics to set up Ro-Ro terminal

    On 26th December 2014, Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited (APM Terminals Pipavav) inked deal with NYK Auto Logistics (India) Ltd to set up a dedicated Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) automobile terminal at Pipavav port in Gujarat. 

    Gujarat Pipavav Port sub-leased 85000 square meters of land for 10 years inside its premises to NYK Auto so that it can develop a dedicated common user integrated Ro-Ro terminal, this facility will also have a VPC (Vehicle Processing Centre) and a PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection).

    Oldest litigant in Babri Masjid case Mohammad Farooq passed away

    On 24th December 2014, Oldest litigant in the Babri Masjid case Mohammad Farooq passed away at the age of 100 years. He was a resident of Ayodhya and was among the seven main litigants from Muslim side in the 1949 Babri Masjid case regarding placing of Lord Rama idols in the premises.

    Buddhist sculptures and Kushan-era coins discovered in Pakistan

    Buddhist sculptures and precious coins during ongoing excavation at an ancient Buddhist Stupa were discovered by Archaeologists in northwest Pakistan, these findings were revealed by PTI.

    These are date back from second to fifth century BC. Sculptures were discovered at Bhamala Buddhist complex in Haripur district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

    Trevor Bull named as new CEO and MD of Aviva India Life Insurance

    Among the important appointments On 26th December 2014, Trevor Bull was appointed as MD and CEO of Aviva India Life Insurance Ltd. He succeeded T R Ramachandran who was serving at this post since October 2008. Trevor Bull will be taking charge of this post from January 2015. 

    Earlier Trevor Bull has served as Director of Zurich Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Chief Executive Officer and President of The Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company, Managing Director of Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Limited etc.

    Noted Hindi poet Nand Chaturvedi passed away

    On 26th December 2014, Noted Hindi poet Nand Chaturvedi passed away at the age of 91. Apart from teaching as Professor he has wrote many poems and essays. 

    He was honoured with many awards including Bihari Puraskar award by K K Birla Foundation (1996) and Prasaran Sanmaan by Prasar Bharati. 

    Nand Chaturvedi also received Mira Puraskar by Rajasthan Government which is considered as highest literary honour of Rajasthan Government.
