    Second Annual Meeting of New Development Bank begins in - New Delhi

    The second Annual Meeting of the New Development Bank began on 31st March 2017 in New Delhi. The meeting will be held for three days  till 2nd April 2017.

    Important Highlights –

    • The opening ceremony of the NDB Second Annual Meeting will be held at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on 1st April 2017.
    • It will be after the singing ceremony, the Second Annual Meeting of the NDB Board of Governors and Press Conference.
    • Seminars: The first seminar will be held with the theme of “Financing Sustainable Development.” It will address the role of governments in financing development and,sustainable infrastructure.
    • The second seminar will be held with the theme of “Urban Planning and Sustainable Infrastructure Development.”
    • During the seminar, the participants will look into how the urban development could improve the lives of people?

     World Autism Awareness Day 2017 observed globally on - 2nd April

    The World Autism Awareness Day 2017 was observed across the world on 2nd April 2017. The 2017 theme for the day is Toward Autonomy and Self-Determination. World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognised day. It encourages Member States of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness about children with autism throughout the world. World Autism Awareness Day, passed in council on 1st November 2007 and adopted on 18th December 2007.

    • Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that manifests itself during the initial three years of life.
    • It results from a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, mostly affect children and adults in many countries irrespective of gender, race or socio-economic status.
    • Autism is characterized by impairments in social interaction, problems with verbal and non-verbal communication and restricted, repetitive behaviour, interests and activities.
