    On 31st October which day is celebrated across India - Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

    Among Important National Current Affairs, on 31st October 2016 Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is observed across India to commemorate birth anniversary of Independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel. 

    However, observance of the day provides an opportunity to re-affirm inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand actual and potential threats to unity, integrity and security of our country. 

    Well, the 2016 Theme is:  “Integration of India”. To mark this occasion various activities and events are being organised across ministries and departments all over the country. Besides, Run for Unity was organised in New Delhi.

    World Cities Day observed with theme - Inclusive Cities, Shared Development

    Among Important International Current Affairs, on 31st October 2016 World Cities Day was observed across the world with theme Inclusive Cities, Shared Development. 

    However, the year’s theme here highlights the important role of urbanization as a source of global development and social inclusion.

    Also recognizing the significance of urban basic services as a foundation for the overall social and economic development, the UN General Assembly by resolution 68/239 designated 31 October as World Cities Day.

    Fishing cat sighted in - Andhra Pradesh

    Among Important National Current Affairs, A fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus) was sighted in the moderately dense mangrove surrounding of the Gilalakalandi harbour near Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. 

    However, the movement of the fishing cat was sighted moderately dense mangrove area which is home for Asian sea bass fish species seed.
