    Assam CM launched skill development training centres on - 28th December 2017

    The Assam’s Chief Minister inaugurated skill development training hubs in an event organised by the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on 28th December 2017.
    Talking on the event, Sonowal informed that the knowledge and skill is important for socio-economic
    development.  He said that the state’s young generations must give a new dimension to the speed of the state's development by obtaining knowledge and increasing their skills.
    Further, highlighting the inherent benefits of Assam as a state brimming with youth potential, the Chief Minister told that economic foundation of the state would be strengthen by skilled workers.
    Key Highlights

    • The Assam’s skill development centres projects to took forward PM Narendra Modi’s vision for developing the skills of the country’s youth through Skill India initiative.
    • The state government has already signed a MoU with the Government of Singapore under which a skill development hub having international standards would be formed in one of its cities, Mangaldoi.
    • The centre would announce training to approximate 10000 youths of the state.
    • Apart from this, the state government would also be initiating foreign language learning centres in the state, as a part of its attempt to produce new job opportunities for the youth abroad.
    • The state would also announce training to approximate 1.5 lakh youth on different trades earlier to 31st March 2018.

    India Ranks 5th in List of Countries with Highest NPA Levels on - 29th December 2017

    India has the maximum level of non-performing assets among BRICS nations and is placed 5th on a list of nations with the maximum levels of NPAs, according to the report by CARE Ratings on 29th December 2017.
    The only nations graded higher than India in the list are Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Ireland.
    All these nations, along with Spain, are frequently mentioned as PIIGS, and have been sufferers of
    sovereign debt crises in past years.  At 9.85%, India’s NPA ratio is more than 400 basis points higher. Spain is the only PIIGS nation ranked lower than India in the list, with an NPA ratio of 5.28%.

     

    US and Turkey open gates for visa services for - Turkish Residents

    The United States embassy in Turkey declared that it is restarting normal visa services for Turkish

    Delhi government launched mobile app that would connect 16000 SMC members on - 28th December 2017

    The Delhi government on 28th December 2017 inaugurated a mobile application that would join
    approximately16, 000 members of School Management Committees. The inauguration was conducted by Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Delhi itself. Talking on the occasion, the CM informed that the app will assist in making the process much transparent and is going to be an effective assist for all the stakeholders by all means.
    Main objective

    • The app will facilitate members of various school management committees to join with each other and carry out their operations using the app.
    • It is focused at aiding the schools, parents and students in better cooperation and result-oriented outcomes.
    • Informing the development further, Kejriwal told that the application is an experiment done by the government for democratisation of school education system in Delhi. He informed that his government’s attempt is to make the SMC members feel that they are the owners of the schools and will subscribe their services for betterment of quality of education.
    • Further, he informed that the SMCs resolutions should be made holding upon the schools and they should be issued with some funds to carry out important and need based jobs in the schools.
