Turing Award 2018 initiated for -  Deep Learning

The Turing Award 2018 has been presented for Geoffrey Hinton, Yann LeCun, and Yoshua Bengio who have initiated an AI revolution by studying the learning abilities of large artificial neural networks. The deep neural network utilised layers of artificial neurons which imitates the structure of animal brains.
Such AI is gradually utilised in items that people utilise daily from smart speakers to Facebook. This
formulates the backbone of Deep Learning.
    Deep Learning
Deep learning comprises building computer programmes which imitates the structure of animal brains,
with many layers of artificial neurons utilised for processing the data. When the network of neurons
digests data, each neuron has distinct responses within each layer. These outputs are forwarded to the
next layer until the network lastly formulate a judgment about the input. This deep learning technology
can be utilised to transliterate human speech/recognise a person’s face in different photographs.
    Turing Award
Turing Award is a yearly prize given by the Association for Computing Machinery for people who have
subsidized a lasting and major technical significance to the computer field. The Turing award is convoyed by an award of US $1 million, with financial assistance delivered by Google Turing Award is documented as the highest distinction in computer science and is often mentioned to as
    the ‘Nobel Prize of computing’.
