Who has been re-elected as President of FIFA - Sepp Blatter

Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 29th May 2015, Current FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter was re-elected as President post. This will be his fifth term. 65th FIFA Congress held in Zurich chose him for this post. 

He got 133 votes out of 206 valid votes to secure this post. He defeated Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan as Prince was able to bag 73 votes. 

Who has been appointed as Scientific Advisor to Union Defence Minister - G Satheesh Reddy

Among the Important National Current Affairs, On 29th May 2015, Scientist G Satheesh Reddy was appointed as Scientific Advisor to Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. He will be serving at this post for the peroid of two years.  Scientist G Satheesh Reddy is Director at Research Centre Imarat (RCI) & Programme Director of MRSAM, DRDO.

Her joined DRDO in 1986 and led many projects, As a Project Director, Reddy led the design and development of Ring Laser Gyro based INS System, MEMS based INS System, Sea-Guard Reference System and Ship Navigation system and also successfully developed a 1000 kg class guided bomb. 

Who has been appointed as Cabinet Secretary to Union Government - Pradeep Kumar Sinha

Among Important National Current Affairs, On 29th May 2015, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary to the Union Government. His this appointment will be with effect from 13 June 2015. His appointment to this key post was cleared by the Appointsments Committee of the Cabinet. At this time of appointment he was serving as Secretary, in Union Ministry of Power since July 2013.

Who has been appointed as new director general of Doordarshan News - Veena Jain

On 29th May 2015, Veena Jain was appointed as Director General (news) in Doordarshan. She succeeded Akshay Rout. She was appointed at this post after her appointment was approved by the Union Ministry of information and broadcasting.

As of now she was serving as  Additional Director General in the News Services Division of All India Radio.

Book titled "Pakistan Paradox: Instability and Resilience" which was authored by Christrophe Jaffrelot was released in April 2015. Christrophe Jaffrelot is Research Director at CNRS and teaches South Asian Politics and History at Sciences Po (Paris).

Book titled Ahmedabad: A City in the World is written by - Amrita Shah

On 28th May 2015, Book titled "Ahmedabad: A City in the World" was released. This book is authored by Amrita Shah. This book is like a biography of Ahmedabad City and also covers its complicity in communal violence.

The book is the story of roadmaps and rivers, kings and kingmakers, merchants and savants; of Dalit labourers and women bootleggers, displaced Muslims and a euphoric middle class. It is also the incredible story of hope and vulnerability at the heart of a metropolis.

Amrita Shah who was a founding editor of Elle India and has been a columnist and contributing editor with the Indian Express. Her biography titled "Vikram Sarabhai" was also released in 2007.

Where was new Bank Note Paper Line unit was inaugurated by Finance Minister - Hoshangabad, MP

On 30th May 2015, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated New Bank Note Paper Line unit of 6000 metric tonne capacity at Security Paper Mill in Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh). With this inauguration India will become self reliant in production of big denominations Bank Note paper. As previously India was importing bank note paper for currency of big denominations. 

One more plant of this type will be operationalised in Mysore soon.

On 29th May, International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers was observed across the globe. Theme of International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers 2015 was "Together for Peace".
