    CBI got its new director as Anil Kumar Sinha

     

    Among the important appointments on  2nd December 2014, Senior IPS officer Anil Kumar Sinha was appointed as new CBI Director. Eariler at the time of appointment he was serving as a Special Director in CBI. 

    Anil Kumar Sinha is a 1979 batch officer of Bihar Cadre. He succeeded Mr Ranjit Sinha who retired on 2nd December 2014. Mr Anil will be on this post for the time span of two years. His name was cleared by Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

    Regional Rural Banks (Amendment) Bill, 2013 approved by Union Cabinet

    Among the Important Financial Current Affairs, On 2nd December 2014 Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Regional Rural Banks (Amendment) Bill, 2013.

    This bill is aimed to help enhance authorized and issued capital to strengthen their capital base and to bring flexibility in the shareholding between Union Government, State Government and Sponsor Bank. Union Cabinet also decided that non-official directors term which are appointed by the Union Government will be fixed and should not exceed three years.

    Former Maharashtra CM Abdul Rahman Antulay passed away

    On 2nd December 2014, Veteran Congressman and Former Chief Minister (CM) of Maharashtra Abdul Rahman Antulay passed away. He passed away at the age of 85.

    Do You Know : 

    Abdul Rahman Antulay was the first and only Muslim Chief Minister of Maharashtra during the years 1980 to 1982. Though his tenure was cut short due to controversy of Cement Scandal after that he resigned.
