    National workshops  have been organised by - Health Ministry

    Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)  has organized a two-day orientation workshop for Population Research Centres (PRCs) in order to highlight various  other features of Health Ministry’s flagship schemes along with their concurrent monitoring.

    • Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has established the network of 18 PRCs which are spread over 17 major States and Union Territories (UTs).
    • The scheme started with the establishment of 2 PRCs in 1958 at Delhi as well as Kerala.
    • It was expanded to 18 PRCs with latest inclusion of PRC,Sagar during 1999.
    • Out of these, 12 are attached to various Universities and 6 are with research institutions of national repute.
    • Admissions are in nature and administratively under the control of their host University / Institutions.

    Monthly pension scheme for traders approved by - Union Cabinet

    The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved Rs.3000 monthly pension scheme for small retail traders and shopkeepers they attain the age of 60 years on 31st May 2019.

    Important Features of Scheme

    • All small shopkeepers, retail traders and self-employed persons are assured a minimum of Rs.3,000 monthly pension after attaining 60 years  under the scheme.
    • The new pension scheme offering pension coverage to the trading community which will be covering 3 crore small retail traders and shop keepers.
    • All small shopkeepers, self-employed persons and retail traders aging between 18-40 years and with GST turnover below Rs.1.5 crore can enrol for pension scheme.

    Two-day Yoga Mahotsava being celebrated by - NITI Ayog

    A Two-day Yoga Mahotsava which will be a Curtain Raiser for its upcoming International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2019 was inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Kumar, Vice-Chairman, of NITI AYOG at New Delhi. He presented theme for IDY 2019 as ‘Yoga for Heart’ as well.

    Important Highlights

    • To sensitize the masses for celebration of IDY 2019, this will be observed on 21st June 2019.
    • Morarji Desai from National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) under Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.
    • Yoga gives us to live with nature instead of conquering it which makes the Indian Philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutubkam’ possible and  promotes harmony and peace across globe.
    • On the occasion of Ministry of AYUSH announced two Applications elated to International Day of Yoga 2019 Yoga locator, Bhuvan App were the two applications launched on this occasion.
