    Who has won the 5th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship - Railways

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 3rd May 2015, Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) won the 5th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2015. Railways defeated Hockey Jharkhand by 12-2 in the final match played at the Master Chandgi Ram sports stadium.

    Hockey Punjab stood at the third position in the championship by defeating Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy by 2-0.

    Name the Russian ballet legend who has passed away - Maya Plisetskaya

    On 2nd May 2015, Legendary Russian ballerinas Maya Plisetskaya died in Munich, Germany at the age of 89. Plisetskaya was considered as one of the greatest ballerinas in the 20th century and was born on 20th November 1925 in Moscow.

    Her modern choreography and performances charged with eroticism disdained Soviet convention. She was an international face of Russia’s Bolshoi Theater.

    In 1943, she joined the ballet company, became the Bolshoi's prima ballerina in 1960 and retired as a soloist in 1990.

    After winning the season title in 2009-10 by defeating Manchester United, this is their first premier league title in five years. Chelsea qualified for Champions League Group Stage with this win, which will be held from September to December 2015.

    On 3rd May 2015, Syrian journalist and rights activist Mazen Darwish was presented with the 2015 UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

    Mazen Darwish was honoured in recognition of the work he has carried out in Syria for more than 10 years as a a journalist and human rights defender. On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, he was presented with the award in Latvia.

    Who has won the inaugural Istanbul Open Tennis Men’s Singles Title - Roger Federer

    The World Tour event was held from 27th April to 3rd May 2015 in Istanbul, the Capital City of Turkey for the first time. Radu Albot and Dusan Lajovic won the Doubles Men’s title in the 439405 Euro prize money tournament.
