    Who has won silver in 13th Asian Shooting Championship - Jitu Rai

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 4th November 2015, India's first senior medal at the 13th Asian Shooting Championship in Kuwait City was won by ace shooter Jitu Rai in the finals of the men's 50 metre pistol event. He won silver medal in the event.

    While, Korea’s Park Daehun, who won the gold medal.

    Besides this, India won four silver and two bronze medals in the junior events of the championships.

    Who has been appointed as Head of Consumer Experience and Growth of Flipkart - Surojit Chatterjee

    Among the important appointments, On 4th November 2015, Surojit Chatterjee has been appointed as the Senior Vice-President and Head of Consumer Experience and Growth of Flipkart.

    Prior to this appointment, Chatterjee was the head of the mobile search advertising and AdSense for Search (AFS) at Google’s Mountain View office.

    He had also worked as a senior engineer at Oracle and IBM and senior product manager at Symantec Corporation.

    Forbes list of World's Most Powerful People 2015

    Russian President Vladimir Putin topped the list for the third year.

    India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is at the 9th position in the list. He was at the 14th position in 2014.

    Who has been appointed as Indian High Commissioner to United Kingdom - Navtej Singh Sarna

    Among the important appointments, On 31st october 2015, Navtej Singh Sarna was appointed as Indian High Commissioner to United Kingdom (UK).

    Earlier to this appointment, he was working as Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs.

    He had also served in Indian missions in Washington DC, Geneva, Warsaw, Thimphu, Tehran and Moscow and served as Indian Ambassador to Israel.

    Research project Imprint India launched by - PM Narendra Modi

    On 5th November 2015, Research project Imprint India, a Pan-IIT and IISc joint initiative wsa launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

    Imprint India aims at :

    Who has sworned as Defence Minister of Canada - Harjit Sajjan

    Among the important International Current Affairs, On 4th November 2015, Indo-Canadian Sikh Harjit Sajjan sworned in as the Defence Minister of Canada.

    He is a Lt Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces. He had three deployments to Kandahar, Afghanistan and had also served in Bosnia. In 20133, he received the Meritorious Service Medal.

    Sajjan will work with Trudeau on reshaping Canada's combat mission fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

    Justice T S Thakur set to be the Chief Justice of India

    Among the important National Current Affairs, On 4th November 2015, Chief Justice H L Dattu recommended Justice Teerth Singh Thakur to be the next Chief Justice of India.

    He will be the 43rd chief justice of India. On 2nd December 2015, he will be appointed as the highest-ranking judge in the Supreme Court of India.

    Thakur was a former acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court who later took over as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

    Empowered Committee to approve schemes under Nirbhaya Fund constituted by - Union Government

    On 4th November 2015, an Empowered Committee to approve schemes proposed under the Nirbhaya Fund was constituted by the Union Government.

    The Committee constitutes officials from various ministries, including Railways, Road Transport, Home Affairs and Women and Child Development.

    The chairperson of the committee will be the Secretary of the Women and Child Development Ministry.

    Representative to the Empowered Committee of Officers will be nominated by the Members of the Empowered Committee .

    The responsibility of the Empowered Committee of Officers is to take decision on the approval of schemes/projects from Nirbhaya Fund within 15 days of the date of receipt of the proposal by the Ministry of Women & Child Development.

    Where did the Phase-I of T-Hub inaugurated - IIIT-Hyderabad

    On 5th November 2015, Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata, Governor of AP and Telangana ESL Narasimhan inaugurated the first phase of Technology Hub (T-Hub).

    Located at the International Institute for Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad) in Gachibowli on the outskirts of Hyderabad, T-Hub is a technology incubation centre.

    Characterstics of T-Hub

    • It is a Public Private Partnership between key private sector leaders, IIIT-H, National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Indian School Business and the Government of Telangana.
    • It pictures building favourable environment and a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem within the State for the next wave of technology companies.
    • The motive of the T-Hub is to provide one central location and to form members of the local start-up community and investors to network, learn, communicate, share and make deals.

    PM Narendra Modi launched three gold related schemes

    On 5th November 2015, three gold related schemes were launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The schemes are – Indian Gold Coins, Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme and Gold Monetization Scheme.

    In February 2015, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his 2015-16 budget speech announced these three schemes.

    The main objective of the schemes is to decrease dependency on imported gold, recycle the unutilized gold in the country.

    Gold Monetization Scheme (GMS)

    Its purpose is to deploy unutilized gold from institutions, households and individuals and make them available to gold-base industries.
