    Which day is celebrated on April 8 - International Roma Day

    International Roma Day is celebrated on 8 April, to raise awareness of the issues faced by the Romani culture. The Roma is originated in India only. About 12 million Roma populations are there worldwide.

    Romani still remain an oppressed group, though they can enjoy a rich and absorbing culture. 

    Know About International Romani Day – 

    •The International Romani Day is a day to celebrate Romani culture and raise awareness of the issues facing Romani people.

    •The day was officially declared in 1990 in Serock, Poland, the site of the fourth World Romani Congress of the International Romani Union (IRU), in honour of the first major international meeting of Romani representatives, 7-12 April 1971 in Chelsfield near London.

    In which country 400-year-old Shakespeare’s ‘First Folio’ has been found – Scotland

    William Shakespeare’s first edition of the original ‘First Folio’ was found at the Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute, off the western coast of Scotland. This edition was first published in 1623, seven years after the death of the Shakespeare.

    ‘First Folio’ is one of the world’s most sought-after books, which contains 36 of the Bard, 18 of which would otherwise not have been recorded.

    •An English poet, playwright and actor William Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were primarily comedies and histories, and these are regarded as some of the best work ever produced in these genres.

    •Shakespeare wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language.

    •In his last phase, he wrote tragicomedies, also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights.

    Who took over as Chairman of Central Administrative Tribunal - Justice (retd) Permod Kohli

    Permod Kohli, who is a retired justice, took over as the Chairman Of Central Administrative tribunal (CAT) in the first week of April 2016. 

    Kohli will be in the office for a period of 5 years or till attaining the age of 68 years, whichever is earlier.

    •In the town of Rajouri, Jammu and Kasmir, Permod Kohli born in 1951, He joined Bar at Jammu in 1972.

    •In December 1990, he became Advocate General of Jammu & Kashmir.

    •Kohli is an expert in Constitutional, Civil and Taxation cases.

    Asia’s 50 Power Businesswomen 2016 list released by – Forbes

    On 6 April 2016, Forbes released Asia’s 50 Power Businesswomen 2016 list. This list features eight Indian women business leaders and more than 27 newcomers.

    Nita Ambani who is a Reliance Industries Director and State Bank of India Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya have been ranked top two in Forbes’ Asia 50 Power Businesswomen 2016 list.

    Whereas, China’s Zhu Chongyun, Cofounder & Chairman of Shenzhen Marisfrolg Fashion, was ranked 50th on the list.

    Who has been approved by Vietnam Parliament as Prime Minister - Nguyen Xuan Phuc

    On 6 April 2016, the 61 year old Nguyen Xuan Phue has been selected by Vietnam's Parliament a new Prime Minister. He has been given a new challenge of maintaining the momentum of one of Asia's fastest-growing economies.

    He won 90.26 per cent of the votes.

    Know About Nguyen Xuan Phuc – 

    •Nguyen Xuan Phuc is eighth and current Prime Minister of Vietnam, since 2016. He is a member of the 11th, 12th Politburo, in which he is ranked 14th, making him one of the lowest ranked member.

    •Since a party congress in January 2016, Phuc has been ranked third in the hierarchy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, after General Secretary of the Communist Party Nguyen Phu Trong and Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang.

    Which actor of bollywood launched a book The Kiss of Life - Emraan Hashmi

    On 8 April 2016, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the book The Kiss of Life: How a superhero and my son defeated cancer in New Delhi. Actor Emraan Hashmi co-authored the book with author Bilal Siddiqi. 

    The book has been published in three languages.

    •Emraan Hashmi’s new launched book narrates the story of Emraan’s life when his family dealt with the horrific struggle as his six-year-old son Ayaan battled his way through cancer.

    •This book is for all cancer patients, who lose hope when his or her body starts to give up.
