    Who has been named as Time Magazine person of the year - Donald Trump

    On 7th December 2016, US President-elect Donald Trump was announced as Person of the Year by Time magazine. He was given this title for his victory in US Presidential election.

    Though if we talk about the reader poll then Indian PM Narendra Modi won the reader poll. This was the second time he won online reader poll.

    India to train Sukhoi Su-30MK2 fighter pilots of which country - Vietnam

    On 5th December 2016, India inked a MoU with Vietnam. As per this agreement India will be giving training to Pilots of Vietnam for Sukhoi Su-30MK2 'Flanker F'. Sukhoi Su-30MK2 'Flanker F' is a multirole comabt aircraft.

    This agreement was inked between defence minister of India Manohar Parrikar and General Ngo Xuan Lich of Vietnam. This training will commence in 2017.

    Important to mention here that Defence ties between India and Vietnam are furthur boosted after PM Narendra Modi visit to Vietnam (September 2016).

    Which court gave verdict against Triple Talaq - Allahabad High Court

    Among Important Judgements, On 8th December 2016, Allahabad High Court declared Triple Talaq as unconstitutional as bench said that no Personal Law Board is above the Constitution of India.

    Court observed that it is against the rights of Muslim Women.

    Triple Talaq is an Islamic practice where a husband can give divorse to wife by saying word talaq three times.

    Important to mention here that Triple Talaq has been challenged by many women in Supreme Court too and SC sought view of Union Government too on this. Union Government  has told the Supreme Court that this type of practice is against the gender equality, justice and Constitution.
