An Mou has been signed between Maharashtra Government and - Foxconn

On 9th August 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to set up its manufacturing facility in the state between Tiawan-based Foxconn and Maharashtra government.

The MoU was inked in Mumbai, Maharashtra in presence of Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Main Highlights of MoU

• 5 billion US dollars will be invested by Foxconn in Maharashtra over the next five years.
• For setting up plant in the state, Maharashtra Govt. will provide 1500 acres of land to the company .
• The main focus will be on research and development (R&D) as well as manufacturing by the Foxconn’s facility.
• Employment of 50,000 people will be created in the state.

Who are appointed as Governors of Bihar and Himachal Pradesh - Acharya Dev Vrat and Ram Nath Kovind

On 9th August 2015, Ram Nath Kovind and Acharya Dev Vrat has been appointed as the governers of Bihar and Himachal Pradesh by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Mr. Kovind will will replace Keshri Nath Tripathi. Between 1994-2000 and 2000-06, he had been a member of Rajya Sabha member.

Acharya Dev Vrat will replace Kalyan Singh.

NASA drones to explore - Moon and Mars

On 9th August 2015, Drones are developed by the NASA engineers that can fly to areas which are inaccessible to rovers to gather samples.

A lander will be used as a base to refill batteries and propellants between flights. The flying robotic vehicles similar to quad-copters are developed for the thin atmosphere of Mars and the airless voids of asteroids and the Moon.

The team of NASA Engineers are programming the flyer to recognise terrain and landmarks and guide itself to areas controllers on Earth.
