President Ram Nath Kovind presented Nari Shakti Puraskar 2018 on  - 8th March 2019

The International Wome's Day 2019 was celebrated worldwide on March 8th, 2019 with an objective to empower females in all settings, be it rural and urban, and celebrate the activists who work constantly to assert females’ rights and understand their complete potential. 
The Day is celebrated to withstand in harmony with all those fearless females fighting for gender equality, and lime-light those females who often pass unnoticed.
The 2019 theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change” emphases on innovative ways to advance gender equality and empower females, particularly in the areas of access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.
Nari Shakti Puraskar

• The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will deliberate the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2018. Current year, 44 awardees have been nominated for the Award. 
• Present year, one of the winners of the Nari Shakti Puraskar is the “One Stop Centre” which have revealed exceptional development in improving child sex ratio at birth under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme.
• The Nari Shakti Puraskar is the National award deliberated on individual females for their exceptional achievement and exemplary service for the upliftment of females.
• Recognized in 1991, the Nari Shakto Awards are conferred by the President of India on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8th every year at New Delhi.
• The prize recognises the spirit of courage of females in difficult circumstances and the pioneering
  involvement of an individual in empowering and raising females’ issues.
