Devotional Singer Juthika Roy died

The iconic devotional singer Juthika Roy passed away at 93. 

She was suffering from breathing problems and other age related complications and was hospitalized in January, On wednesday night she succumbed to a massive cardiac arrest.

She was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and many others. 

She was then known as the Adhunik Meera after Meera Bai. She was awarded with Padma Shri in 1972.
